got on track 4 times this weekend for touring laps. this was the slowest session, but it's awesome that eric was there to get it on vid. the course stopped at one point so I did a burnout, I think he got that on film too. Not sure if he got me and doppleganger going at it on the back straight or not, we did it a couple times...

Saturday's touring laps at the Mitty. Not full speed, but it was 110-120 mph on each straight section and 50-ish in curves.

"touring laps" which is hotter than the parade laps. not a HPDE. there were some slow spots, but there was also plenty of time at 100 plus.
Then at the end of sunday, the GRM guys let us come on the track with them for "VIP" laps. Which was similar to a HPDE event in speed for about 30 minutes. Don't think there's any video of that, as everyone was either driving or riding. But doppleganger and I were side by side at 110-120 on the back straight twice.

It'll play long after the burnout, but I don't feel like editing the video. Did not get any footage on the VIP laps, camera was full. :( Wish I had been able to get the first lineup between you and Doppelgänger, that was great.

No, the second time was better. It did not want to go to 3rd for a minute.
The second run was clean.
The third run I completely missed 3 and actually went to 1. But luckily I got the clutch in fast and got out of the way of Steve's S2K.

I'm still kinda shocked at how I was able to roll full throttle in 2nd gear out of turn 7 on NeoGen street tires and have grip with no sliding... and pull through turn 12 at a good clip. I've run RA on slicks, so I know what to expect from those... but was still surprised what street tires allowd me to do while having a passenger, a half tank of gas and a trunk FULL of weekend supplies (2 large folding chairs, a full cooler, a loaded camera bag, some detailing supplies). Yes Ben, I had all that **** in my trunk on the VIP laps..all while doing that asshauling through 10a-b, 11/12, the esses/2,3,4,5 and turn 7
I should have taken all that **** out though...

yeah I had the small cooler, full tool bag, camera bag, and some other stuff in my trunk too. And I carry a spare and jack too. I think it was pretty fair.
what amazed me being behind you through 4-7 how you didn't touch the brakes and are smooth and continuous. drive the track instead of drive each turn. I do a lot of point and shoot. I don't have the confidence or awareness you have.
I did amaze myself on the skid pad. The confidence is coming, and hopefully skill follows.

On the front page of the Mitty page for this year:

I'm also in one of the lower pictures, kinda. You can see a bit of the rollbar behind the yellow Mini.
