Hi all
I've just bought a 98 mx5 mk1 1.8 uk spec.
I'm planning on fitting a turbo and heard this was the place to be so here I am.
I don't know much about mx5's or turbos for that matter but I like to play about with engines.
So I will have a read through the site and more than likely ask loads of questions.

Thanks for the welcome.
The Mazda cat will be removed, but for our annual MOT test it will have to be replaced one day every year!! Stupid laws.
I'm located in Manchester UK.
Profile updated.
Will try post a pic of the car as it stands at the moment.

My personal experience has been that cars without cats are nasty as a DD. I dont need to have my car smell like a basket of roses however i dont need it to smell like i'm in a oil rig either.

Yeah... My car smells like a 4-wheeler all the time... Maybe thats why girls dont like riding in it... OR, because its a Miata... Could go either way.

I'm now on the lookout for the required parts to begin the build.
I'm going to keep the car looking worn and standard...ish but invest in a decent turbo set up.
I will search the forum for the best parts to use.
Unless there is already a list of the required parts.

A very quick list.. need a turbo/dp/manifold combo and a stand alone.. the intercooler is a fairly straight forward diy job, same with injectors. Check out the stickies around the site.

Thanks for that,at the moment I'm off work for a few weeks due to a smashed shoulder following a motorcycle accident.
I have plenty of time on my hands.
I will browse through the stickies.
Looking forward to the challenge.
My only downfall will be the electrics and ecu.I'm clueless when it comes to that magic.
