DeNewbing Myself
Hi All. Joined the forum a while back but never introduced myself. I'm driving a 2000 NB 1.8 up in Idaho, USA. I've had the car for about 3 years now and have been nursing it back to health after it took a bit of abuse from a previous owner. Although, most of the aftermarket parts that were on the car when I got it are respected brands, so I assume someone built the car for autocross or a similar purpose. After years of wanting to tinker with cars, I'm finally at a place in life where I have the time, money and space to make it a reality.
I've been autocrossing the car for a few seasons and have done a few upgrades. Mainly wheels, tires, a bucket seat, stage 1 clutch, and fresh fluids all around. The latest install is a SpeedyEFI ECU, which I'm learning to tune on. I've got a v1.1 FM Turbo kit in a box in the kitchen, which will hopefully be going on later this year.
Hoping to continue to beat on the car, getting through another season of AutoX and hopefully a few track days sprinkled in. Depending on how that goes, an engine rebuild might be in the cards as well.

Thanks!
Correct, it's my first experience tuning a car.
So far it's been pretty straightforward. Obviously I'm benefitting from the years of learning done by the community here.
I guess the biggest hurdle so far is that most of the information is Megasquirt based. A lot of it translates pretty directly to a speeduino, but there are subtle differences. There are speeduino forums and facebook groups which are helpful, but often the information is harder to search for.
At this point the car is running pretty smoothly. Biggest issues are cold starts, but if I prime the fuel system twice it usually fires up pretty easily. I need to go back and fine tune it, but it's "good enough".
Going to shake it down at an autocross this weekend and finish doing some prep work for my, and the car's, first track day next month.
