Nice car.
I thought short throw shifters were the high performance mod of choice. That one is nearly Ed Roth style.

And they're right, it does look like a *****, only smaller.

I for one love to read what he comes up with
They just don't like abbreviations like telephone text typing and trendy purposeful misspellings like turboz and the like. They are also big fans of capitalizing the first word in a sentence and the personal pronoun "I". That's all. We get quite a few of the semi-illiterate kids in here for brief periods of time and they have soured the long-timers and old-timers regarding that.
They are trying to keep high standards with regard to the topics and the info shared. There is a tremendous knowledge base here that spans back through years of R&D and mostly DIY. Most of the time somebody has tried it already and has a war story, both good and bad.
There is a great deal of impatience with the dozens of noobs who ask the same three or four questions as their very first post each month. They skip the search function to find the answer, and they skip the "Meet and Greet" and basically throw decorum and protocol out the window. A great example to check out is the "Ultimate Noob First Post" sticky in the "Meet and Greet" section.
And to make it worse for you, so many of them are asking about d ri ft ing because they saw the F&F movie, yet don't know that you can't turbo your car for $125 and be Mr. Awesome all of a sudden without actually being forced to learn anything. That's the "why."
But you are going to be fine. You have some knowledge and a couple of nice rides and will obviously contribute as well as question. Contributing back to the forum is what helps to separate the "takers" from the members. Good luck and welcome.

Of course there is always the proper use of irony that is the exception to the rule; look at lolcats. And look at Braineack.

I'm going to try it. Buttsex. Buttsexing. Buttsexed. Slowest way around a corner.
Let's see if that posts or get censored.
