I actually really dig the LS meshies and top mount setup on that car. I've never even noticed those before, and my brother has a sr20 s14 and is a nismo guy.

Very cool, thanks for the details. I'd still love a clean P10 as a daily but that's about it.

The LS meshes are actually a stock wheel off of the P11.

And I actually conned a friend into buying one of these with me. He took it a step further and swapped a GTiR SR20DET (lower compression, ITBs, T28) and a B15 Spec-V Helical LSD 6sp trans into his. A few photos of that deal:

Back on the miata note, what is MT's stance on flyin miata butterfly braces aside from making it a beezy to work on anything underneath the car? I've been getting mixed reviews.

The don't do ****. They are built like a 2 dollar toaster. Flimsy, no way near enough welds, and severely compromised in design. Some points have a vertical depth of like 5mm, how that is supposed to stop flex on a 2200lb vehicle cornering with full force I have no idea.

That's what I figured from the photos. And how about just the FM rails?

Frame rail re-enforcements are AWESOME. No idea about the butterfly x-brace thing, but the frame rails from FM/boss frog/s9 garage/etc. are all a great and worthwhile mod. made my car feel awesome, and obviously stiffer when you jack it up. AND you can use them as jacking points.

I actually don't shoot with much. Having heavy interests in cars and photography was not the best idea. Here's the gear list:

Nikon D300 w/ MB-D10 grip
Nikon 28mm F1.8G
Nikon 85mm F1.8G
Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 MKII

and a few strobies.

The miata is a 1.8.

Spent this last weekend installing the PPF brace and differential mount plastic shims. They seem to have reduced chassis shimmy by a considerable amount. Anyway, along with that, I also raised the vehicle to gain suspension travel. Feels much better now. Here is the result:

Things to expect for this month...

I picked up a set of coated ss brake lines and clutch lines. While browsing cr.net fs forums, I came across an FM butterfly brace for about the price of FM's frame rails. That should be on its way as well Also looking to replace the brake pads with PBR/Axxis Ultimates and possibly look into FM brake ducts.
