Default Hello....1999 Silver NB

Hello everyone,

I am from the Metro Detroit Area. I am a large car enthusiasts that has finally gotten a Miata!!!!!!!!!! This fall I purchased a rusty, high mileage(186k) silver 99' for $1300.

It has the sport suspension and the lsd, but no power windows or cruise control.

It needed a little bit of everything all the way around, but it drove so solid that I didn't even hesitate to take a 3000 mile road trip in it through the carolinas. To no ones shock it made the drive just fine with out any hick-ups. I even took it to an autocross that weekend down there. And I can't imagine anything better than carving mountain roads with the top down and sun out!

Since the purchase, it has received:
A new top
slotted rotors
performance pads
major clean up of the interior
snow tires and rims
new stereo
EBay Roll Bar
Steering Wheel Wrap
Clutch slave cylinder
And a regular tuneup

Already purchased just waiting to install(waiting for warm weather):

New trunk lid, fender, rear wheel wells (take care of the rust)
Adjustable Koni's
Poly bushings with all new control arms(15 years of snow and salt have been rough on mine)

Other mods this spring:

Harddog rollbar
Good race rubber!
Sway bars

Future mods:

FORCED INDUCTION!!!!

The other side with the bad fender. This also has the sparco seats I tried in it.

I am not the smallest person in the world, so the road trip taught me I needed a bigger and lower seat. These looked great but raised me up about an inch so they had to go.

This Corbeau is what I ended up using. It sits me about an inch lower than stock and a bit further back than stock, as well as offering more support.

The extra nice part is the bottom cushion pulls out and drops me down another inch for track and autocross days!

Hello Metro Detroiter. For $1300 it looks about right, but that rust is painful to see. Good to hear the car was reliable on your road trip.

Best of luck on the restoration.
