Default Hello from San Francisco

Hi. I registered for this forum a while ago while researching parts for a buddies turbo Miata. I began working on another turbo Miata that was in his garage being neglected. After getting it roadworthy I decided to keep it and see where I could get the tune.

This is a conservative timing map loaded to my ancient TEC II. I used 'chassis ears' or 'det cans' as some would call them to make sure all was good with it. I'll load an image of a recent dyno run, as well as a few vehicle pictures as I can get them. It made about 200rwhp, 210lb-ft to the wheels and it gets full boost of 16psi by less than 3000rpm. I went to Thunderhill with the stock suspension which was all the convincing I needed to take a chance with some Rokkor coilovers. They helped immensely. I went back to Thunderhill for a GGLC day a couple weeks ago and had a blast even in 100+ temps. And that is where I'm at today I'll do much more reading than posting, so I won't pollute anymore than what's in this thread. Thanks

Nice.
What does the setup consist of? So far all we know is its turbo'd and running on a TEC II.

Sounds like a fun lil car, though I'd expect more peak power than 200 with 210wtq

My apologies. I created a signature but it wasn't there when I went back to the User CP. I think it should show up now. The turbo is a VNT25 which was a small turbo Garret developed in the late 80's. It doesn't have a wastegate. It has variable vanes that control exhaust flow across the turbine wheel. It's extremely responsive and a lot of fun to drive.
