Hello from a soon to be turbo'd 92
Hello everyone. My name is Kenny and I have a red 92. It is currently stock but I am in the process of turbo-ing it. I've been lurking around the forums for a few weeks now but this is my first real introduction post. Anyways, my 92 has a 1.6L which has decent compression test numbers. I will be pulling the motor in the upcoming weeks due a small oil leak (which I believe to be the rear main seal). I also planned on re-freshening the head while I am at it. As far as my turbo build, I'm looking to run around 10-12 lbs of boost and hopefully making around 200 whp / 200 ft-lb torque. I have acquired the following parts so far:
Garrett T25 (journal bearing unit from SR20DET)
Flyin' Miata turbo exhaust manifold
BEGi downpipe
ebay intercooler (11"X11.75"X 2.75" core)
1.8L driveshaft/half shafts/differential
Looking to purchase:
DIYPNP ecu
AEM UEGO wideband
clutch kit (Flyin' Miata?)
460cc or 550cc injectors (rx7)
I know my list isn't complete yet but any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

It actually is fairly complete, as far as I can tell.
Don't discount the price of intercooler pipes, couplers, and clamps. I recent changed my over-the-radiator setup to use the same intercooler but go around the radiator instead. I reused a few pipes, and already had half the couplers. The "upgrade" still cost me $100 in a few more pipes, couplers, and clamps.

I was thinking of purchasing an ebay intercooler piping kit but buying the hoses, couplers and t-clamps from a more reputable source. Good or bad idea? How do most people mock up their pipe routing?
That's a pretty common way to do it. Have a look at build threads, IC routing threads, etc so you can see on how people have put theirs together, and figure out how you want to run yours from there. You pretty much have to mock/build it as you go. You ought to be able to piece together something pretty close buying random piping bends, or just buy a bigger piping kit and chances are you'll have everything you need. Siliconeintakes.com has good quality couplers in my experience, but I always go to a local hydraulic supply shop for t-bolts and hoses.
Thanks everyone. I will go ahead and continue to do my research. In the mean time, here are some pictures. I got bumped a few months ago and now there's a long 5-6 inch paint chip on my front bumper
