Hello from South West Florida 2003 White LS 5speed
Hello! Sorry to be another noob. I figured it's time to add myself to the forums rather than lurking. I see you are all a very tightknit bunch with years of knowledge and friendships throughout. Also, I see a little rambunctious with the noobs. That is to be expected, when questions are asked thousands of times. Asked, when they havent searches. Or the worse, asked after being told and not listening.
Anyways, some back ground. Floridian born and raised. Never left the state of Florida ever in 24 years (almost 24). Father had two miatas, both were 1990 when I was younger and is what got me into understanding basic cars. Until last year, I owned nothing but motorcycles. 8 to be exact. Then, I finally said i can't take the rain. Anything with a roof doors and a small trunk is enough for me, after 7 years of using bag, rain gear and a back pack.
It was also time to start working and messing around with bigger toys and the best place to start was with the NB MX-5. This is how I learned and oil change, brakes, changing exhaust, all fluids, and basic maintenance and minor upgrades when I was 8 and growing up.
Anyways, I have vehicular knowledge. I'm not in the mechanic field of work, but tools and how engines work I'll say I'm capable. Fabricating is the bit that's very new. I have been lurking for a few months gaining knowledge and time is coming around to start ordering and getting items for a stock turbo build realistically no more than 250 whp, but 200-225 I'll be tickled pink till later stages. I wont say budget build but it won't be baller money either. Time will tell with research from all of your posts.
The car:
2003 LS
160k on chassis
Rebuilt stock motor with 20k on the rebuild
Racing Beat header
HPS Intake
Amazon Special Radiator
Racing Beat front and Rear Sway bars
K Sport Kontrol Pro Coil Overs
I know these aren't the best on this car, will change with in due time. Couldn't be mad at what the car is for 3k, main gripes are paint and dings. But overall straight body with a couple things added to it that can be used for now and upgraded later one.
Anyways, I'm surprised if you're still reading. Go ahead and knock my car for what it has currently, haha and thanks for allowing me to join and learn.
p.s. couldn't upload photos from phone. Will try computer later.
Until new posts,
Marshall

Welcome to the forum. ^Joker is from Lakeland (though it doesn't say it in his profile), and I am from just outside Tampa. I'm surprised you didn't say SW Florida in your title. Most people that say S FL seem to be talking about SE FL. There's a few more of us up in the Tampa area and a couple near FT M. Then there's some SE FL guys but we don't interact with them as often.
Sebring is our home track, if you ever decide to take the Miata to the place it does its best work. Many of us do track days when the coronadeath isn't shutting everything down.
Any questions you may have will probably have been asked previously, but the site's search function sometimes leaves us wanting better results. Using google "[whatever term you want to search for] site:miataturbo.net" works better.
Let me know if you need anything.

Anyways, definitely going to use the tips you suggested to search for answers. I'm definitely a noob when it comes to forced induction and upgrading cars, but not researching and wrench turning. Right now I'm looking for people to meet up with (after corona which makes most sense) to ask questions and be shown in person somethings. I'm looking into which ecu and injectors and coils I want to start with now. Always looking for parts to buy as well. Scurrying around the classifieds everywhere to obtain.
Will be in contact with you Florida guys soon. Do you all post when the sebring meet ups happen? Any facebook activity you are all apart of? Thanks for everything.
Still having issues trying to upload photos. Have them on Flickr, but the URLs arent working.

People usually post trackday events they are planning to attend in the subforum for events. There was a running thread for southeast trackdays but nothing has happened lately.
MS3 Basic ECU is what I'm using. MS Labs is a vendor in the vendor section of the forum.

Well, you are the most southern point of the U.S., haha.
Thanks for the info Sixshooter. Hope to meet up with some of the other Florida guys when this is all blown over. Anyways, got the photos uploaded finally. She does alright and I am happy with her. Change will come slowly, but surely. to keep it simply for my uneducated self, I'm looking into getting the MS3 to learn tuning since there is a plethora of information out there for it.
