Hello, and who built this turbo manifold?
Good morning, had a JRSC M45 in my 1994 "R", and am interested in going turbo.
I write through bleary eyes after searching 155 threads returned under "manifold" for the builder of this one (I fully expect brutality if I've done the attachment wrong). Could someone direct me to it's builder, or build thread?:

Thanks Hustler, I knew it was Hemingway, but didn't put it in quotes because I wasn't certain of the exact phrasing.
I didn't get the lambasting I was expecting having read other newbie posts. You people going soft during the Holiday season?
Any ideas on who built the turbo manifold?

I am guessing. merely guessing. Turbo Tim or Begi. There are from time to time gifted individuals that builds there own masterpieces, But I know tim could do it. But he replys to cost as in. " If you ask it is too much".
I'm old school. I always need prices. But seems helpful and a good guy. And his parts produce good numbers.
I would pm him and see if it was his. He might know anyway..
You will like the turbo. Much more power, with the right turbo.
Good Luck!

Mystery solved, thanks crashnscar!
I agree urgaynknowit it's very attractive, not sure it likes me, but it might.
I've got to believe when you put the weight of the turbo low like that, it can only do good for CofG on the car.
Wish I had some mad welding skillz yo.
Thanks for all your help, turns out I didn't need you all to lambast me, my wife looked over my shoulder and saw the pic of our son on my post and.....I took the pic off.

Well, you stated you searched. And there is so much you have to filter through. You would probably never find it.

hehehe I'm trying to get less assholish I swear. 'Tis the time of year I guess. And thanks for the compliment
Not mine and I don't know who built that one, sorry. Nice turbo placement but IMHO too much pipe.
EDIT: I should read thru the entire thread before posting...

Why did no one complain about the shitty 1:30am welding job and the fact the top of that back middle runner was cut and joined because it didn't line up otherwise? :-p
NO WAY!! The manifold is WAY lighter than the turbo. Also, the heaviest parts of the manifold are the two flanges and the brace between them, all of which are down low. There were a number of motivations for building it like this.
Prerequisites were :
In order of priority (vaguely) :
Down sides were :
Which I don't consider to be a big deal. 12psi from a 550hp turbo on a 2.0 at 4krpm isn't bad IMO. Especially not when it's barely tuned at all.
As for this...
Not sure if you are referring to the fact it's hooked up wrongly, or the tube is long. The latter I don't care about. The former is downright dangerous and wrong and will be fixed within hours of landing in NZ again.
About the manifold :
I hand filed the insides of the merger and ports to be smooth and flow well. Here is the down pipe, a few people referred to it as "out pipe" due to lack of bends :

Glad you like it anyway :-)
Fred.
Prerequisites were :
- Excellent top end flow
- Equal length
In order of priority (vaguely) :
- Simplicity of build - piece of **** to do it like this, minimal skill required
- Short/Straight exhaust - minimal bends to the exit
- Physical strength - down low and close in = less stress on braces etc
- Low COG (in a truck?? LOL, yes!) - aiming for 50/50 weight split too
- Looks - can't argue with that :-)

Thank you Fred, I followed the link at the bottom of your post and read all about it.
"ex mani on the Persian rug in the lounge just after completion." I love it, my wife would $hit a brick if I put a car part on the rug, but I giggled silly when I saw that pic.
Are you from NZ? I worked in Johannesburg in 2000 for a year, watched an RSA vs. AUS cricket match, all 8 hours of it from a box seat there.
Thanks again,
Chris
