Default Hi!

G'day everyone.

498 here. I'm in the process of rebuilding the motor in my SP. Came here for all the info I can gather on coolant reroutes. Looks like that'll keep me busy for a bit.

Anyway, cheers, speak to you soon!

Welcome!

Major take-aways if you want to do a coolant reroute: use the '94-'00 head gasket, use the supermiata reroute kit.

Welcome!

You might want to state your location (Australia?
And also clarify what an SP is. I understand that's the NB2 that Mazda Australia added a turbo to after importing from Hiroshima. That car is what the USDM Mazdaspeed was inspired by. Ours sucked, yours didn't.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Emilio - you're exactly right. There were 101 SP built in Australia to satisfy racing homologation requirements. The car arrived from Japan, they hung a GT2560R off the side and gave it a tune, producing ~150KW at the fly. Made for a really interesting drive!

Here's a much nicer photo. I don't want anyone thinking this car is being neglected (She has been off the road for about 2 years). The engine came out at the beginning of the year for a rebuild and some minor improvements after burning heaps of oil, and she'll hopefully be running again by Christmas.
