Hi Everybody! 25yo Girl from SoCal with NA8
Ok, to be completely honest the title of this thread isn't true. I'm a 34 year old male who lives in cold-as-hell Utah. I chose the title due to a thread on the first page of Meet-and-Greet with a bazzilion pages... Presumably because it has "girl" in the title. Oh internet, how predictable you are... I want page views, yo!
So the real deal.
I recently picked up a black 94 with -supposedly- 160,000 on the dial. The body is in pretty good condition, but like many Miata it has/had some rocker panel rust. Other than that it's pretty damn clean for a 20 year old car. Mechanically it's unmolested (even original clutch!) and has a few aesthetic mods I'll be removing once it warms up. Doesn't pass emissions, which is no big deal because I bought the car as something to wrench on - definitely getting turbo. It's actually my second Miata; boy, I've missed light weight RWD.
This is already TL;DR so if you want to know more, I am keeping a blog about the car/build which you can read here: My blog
A little about me:
My name is Jeremy and I like to build stuff. Cars, Legos (I'm a dad), Large scale art projects (SuperConductor, Jellyfish 12000 | human be nice to other human), whatever... Happily married to a beautiful woman who is a wonderful mother to my kids. I'm an engineer/manager by day and a take many forms come night. Oh, and if you can't tell by the thread title, I'm a smart-***.
Looking forward to learning a lot from this crew!
Here's a picture of my new Miata
Here's a picture of one of my (four) cats
Here's a picture of bacon (my nickname is Baconhand)

I hope you'll run allofit sometime in the future though. That'd be fun.
I just moved from Utah. What part you live in?

Long term plans - I'm going to replace/fix everything it needs to make a track-reliable ~250whp then transfer the rollerskate to an Exocet and use it as a track toy. In the meantime it will be a platform for me to learn better fabrication skills.
I'm also very interested in writing an iOS app for MegaSquirt; what I've seen isn't very complete and I think there's a need for it.
Pretty much every other post in this forum needs one of these... RimShot

Great intro lmao, and really cute cat lol, I feel there's a general pattern between Miata/cat lovers, anyhow, welcome! I'm new to this forum myself, and on my second Miata also! Look forward to seeing you around!

Thanks for all the friendly hello's!
I'm an engineer (hardware and software). I run engineering for a company making golf simulators. You can check it out here: TruGolf I used to make games for the XBox, but became tired of the big studio energy.
Why did you move away?
Not too far. It takes ~35 minutes to get from my door to Main Street.
I forgot to mention, I also love to home brew!

Sounds like a pretty sweet job!
Moved away because my wife can't stand living in Utah (I don't prefer it either) and she's going to school up here (attending a program not offered in Utah).
Miss being close to family, glad to be where we are otherwise though. Plus I've got a great car sales job that is far better than anything I was able to find in Utah. Still not as good as my car sales job in Michigan though.
