Default Hi From Fort Worth, TX

Hey Guys,
I’m on here trying to do some research to see whether or not I want to buy a Miata track car. I’m currently the Editor of Diesel Army magazine and I’m looking for something light weight and fun. Don’t get me wrong, I love my trucks, but sometimes it is nice to throw something light around a corner.

There have been a lot of conversations around the office since we launched Turnology and Revved magazine about how fun track days can be. When I worked at KBB, I used to do one or two track days a year but that was years ago. I really miss getting out on the track and letting go of the everyday BS.

I don’t currently have a Miata nor do I have one in mind. I have a friend who is an enthusiast and while talking to him, he basically convinced me that I should be looking at one. So, here I am.

As I mentioned above, I’m an Editor of a magazine, I’m in my mid 30’s, I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, I’m married with kids and I live in Fort Worth, Texas.

We have a slew of mechanical and other types of engineers on the forum. And many of the regulars are track day junkies.

Have you ridden in a turbo Miata? Maybe one of the guys local to you would be willing to take you for a spin or meet them out at a track day event.

Welcome to the forum!

Put your location in your profile so it shows under your screen name when you post. We've got a lot of Texas guys here.

That is what I have heard. My buddy who has a Miata said there are a lot of Engineers on here. He frequents to check out what everyone is building and fabricating. Always impressed with the work.

For me, I'm hoping that I will be able to get some good quality advice and make some like minded friends!

I have tons of photos but none of them are Miata's. I'm a diesel guy. I have been shooting trucks and writing articles on diesels for the past 10 years.
