Put in a Greddy @5~6psi for less than 2K and see if you are happy with that power level.

If you want more power, put in an intercooler and 1.8 injectors and go to 8 psi. All on the stock ECU.

Beyond that, there are many routes.

I have been running 14~15 psi on a 1.6 with a Greddy for over 70K miles now with no problems.

Say what you will about bandaids (Emanage, Vortech, etc), I know a lot of people that like to drive my car.....

Look at the guy's car. It's nice. It's shiny, has some care and pride put into it.

350$ OBO for everything he could ever want on making his car run perfect and as much power as he'd ever get out of the setup is too much?

For a nice car, why would you want to use 1980's fuel control technology when there's something so cheap, powerful, accessable, reliable, supported, right there?

Maybe if you were on a 500$ budget and didn't care much about drivability, MPG, efficient power... Or you built your car a long time ago and already went though all the headaches of trying to tune a car with a computer like one with a carb.

Thanks for all the tips. I grabbed WhiteLight's JRSC kit off the classifieds. It looks like it should get me right around where I was hoping to go for the most reasonable price. Now I've just got to the controls for it. Vacillating between picking up that MS off the classifieds, or just going with a simple timing controller and O2 clamp. My concern with the MS is the time and effort that might be required to make it work, and the possibility of FUBARing something. Also, I need to investigate how complex the install is. The timing and cheap fuel control appears to be plug and play easy.

This thread:
OP: Hey guys, I'm looking for a new pony, but not sure if I should get a black one, or a white one, can you all help me out?

Protagonist 1: Get a White one.

Protagonist 2: Get a White one.

Antagonist 1: Why the hell would you want to get a pony when you can have a horse?

Progatonist 3: Get a Black one.

Protagonist 4: Get a White one.

OP: Hey guys, thanks for all your help, I just bought a yellow and blue hang glider! KTHXBYE!

The megasquirt couldn't possibly get more easy.

You install it in an hour or so, then you download someone's map online, then you let Tunerstudio's autotune do the rest.

In any case, you'll need a wideband sensor as well.

You have a nice car. Don't ruin it by trying to fool the computer. It's there for a reason. Fooling it will only hurt your drivability, reliability, power, response and MPG.

With the supercharger, you're going to want to rig up a dual throttle setup, or deal with terrible idle issues. If you live in a hot climate, you'll want to get a header blanket to mitigate heat soak... somewhat.

Thanks, Nagase. I've got a lot of reading to do to get smart fast. Need to understand cost benefits of various add-ons and for now KISS (keep it simple stupid) is critical in this happening.

At 1:30PM Disaster determines he doesn't have enough posts to PM someone about buying parts and embarks on intensive post whoring exercise. Him not being pleased about being called out doesn't render the substance of the charge untrue. I actually sympathize more with the post whoring than the idea that someone would become indignant when called to account for it.

If he hadn't resurrected a thread that had been dead since July to add a useless, one line comment I wouldn't have noticed him or cared. I hope he learns to respect our forum.

For a second, I thought I was looking at a pic of my son. He's got the same hair style. But he is 6 foot 3, and it is a crack up to watch him squeeze behind the wheel.

Curious what you mean by "bent tabs on end of stock mounts." I'm looking to put in a seat mostly for headroom, but I don't want to carve up the floor (want to be able to go easily back to stock.)

Been trying to decide if I build my own, or buy a turbo...as in whole car. I've already got about $4K into my '92, in upkeep, suspension, chassis stiffening, and other mods.

Woops. That was to the OP, who said "Too much stretch" and "need a light fender roll for peace of mind."

Do you really need hubcentric? Doesn't that just aid the initial installation? I don't even bother with my hub rings and have never had an issue.

They don't look to stretched to me. Did you do the fender roll yet?

Wow...never thought of this when I was shopping for BB kits. I'm sure my tiny '92 spare wouldn't fit them.

It is more because the pedal twists the panel that the brake is installed on.

I have the Frog Arms and they made a HUGE difference in front end stiffness. D_MN...wish I could weld better than I did in 9th grade shop class!

I'm interested. Email me @ dlauring@hotmail.com. Tried to PM you but apparently don't have a big enough post count to do that. I mostly post @ miata.net.

I did admit to it and apologize if it offended anyone.

Having said that I'm a bit curious how this "whoring" might have ruined anyone's day? Also, like I said, I tried to stay on topic and post questions or comments that were relevant to the threads. In fact, I think they were just as relevant or more relevant than many other posters here. The only difference was the quantity and frequency. Do you really want me to cherry pick your comments or anyone else's on this forum as an example of how "useless" many of them are?

What is the big issue? The content or the frequency? The fact that I commented on an older thread?

A general comment about a 240Z build discussion. I read the build thread and found it interesting. The Z was one of the cars I always wanted along with the RX7 and Miata. Don't see how my comment is any worse than half the other responses in that thread.

I have RS3's. Just bought them, in fact. I researched them and didn't read anything about them being bad in the rain so I was a bit curious and concerned.

Seriously, that kid looks just like my son. Probably one of my least relevant posts but it isn't really a technical thread.

Did you listen to the sound. Kind of awesome. Silly comment maybe, but still....awesome sound.

Thread was about car to tow Miata. I thought it was relevant to mention the car I tow mine with and that I chose to do it wheels down, which hasn't caused any issues. In fact, I met a guy who put 10K on his Miata, towing it wheels down. He did accidentally grenade the engine when he left it in gear by mistake once. :-O

I've been researching getting lower for a while. I've already done a foamectomy. Curious to what the poster means by bending tabs and if that is something I can do to get an aftermarket seat lower.

Meet and greet thread. Supposed to be for introducing yourself and discussing your background. Really! That is wrong?

Commented on tire fit, another area of interest to me. I'm running RS3's on 8" wide 6UL's and they just fit under unrolled fenders. I don't think the stretched look is bad on my setup or the OP's and said so.

I hope this is helpful to the OP and others. I read a lot about hubcentric, but like I mentioned I dumped my rings a long time ago and just use the lugs to center the wheel with zero issues.

Already commented on that which was part of the tire discussion. The second post in that thread was my follow up to a question.

Just a quick thank you to the OP. I've got a mini spare and it never occured to me to worry about brake fit with it.

Explaining why brake cylindar moves up. Very relevant to conversation.

Another relevant comment about efficacy of Frog Arms...and lack of welding skills. :-)

Yep. This is what got me wanting to make 15 posts. But you'll notice I've made way more than that.

I ask again, is it the frequency or the content you are objecting to.

If you look up my I.D. at Miata.net you will see I can be a pretty prolific poster there...but also one who contributes at least as much as I take. I've posted tips on sway bar installs (trim poly bushing), roll bar installs (to supplement weak instructions) and recently my experience with the Frog Arm install, pictures and tips.

Again, I apologize for transparent attempt to PM, but I never intended to degrade the forum in any manner...just the opposite.

Perhaps it would have been more tasteful to post a writeup about your Frog Arm install or something useful that could benefit others instead of useless clutter. It shows that you are not only here to learn and purchase/sell items, but also that you would like to contribute to making this a nicer place for others. It also makes you more credible to others when they look at your past posts to see if you're someone they should listen to or even do business with.

Good point. I'll definitely add my Frog Arm writeup over here with some pics. Again, sorry for the full onslaught. :-}

Its not a shame at all. We're proud of it. People are here to learn and make their cars fast, not suck each others dicks.
