Default Lurker from New Mexico with a '91

Hi everyone, been lurking here for a few years and finally decided to start posting. I work as a mech engineer at a small biotech company in Albuquerque NM and love old simple cars and bikes (got a 1984 VF500 interceptor too). My previous project car was a Honda del sol that I put an ebay turbo kit when I was young and stupid.

I bought my 91 miata about 2 and a half years ago. It already had a 94 1.8 swap and a few other goodies. Was mainly looking for a fun street car and to get my feet wet in some form of track events. I plan on keeping looking pretty stock for now.

I already went through the car and cleaned up the suspension and brakes. After that, a MS2 DIYpnp and a turbo set up went in and Im slowly learning to tune it myself. I took it to some time attack events when it was still naturally aspirated.

As she sits:
  • '94 1.8 swap + torsen diff
  • GT2554r
  • 2.5" kraken kit
  • MS2
  • FM Vmaxx classics
  • Still need to replace the clutch and up the boost

Nice to see some fellow New Mexicans on here! I assume the track you have taken it to is Sandia?

If you decide to upgrade your wheels and tires, I have some 15x8 Enkei PF01's with 205/50 Continental ECS's on them and also some bare, never-used 15x9 Konig Dial-In's for sale.

Bring it down to Deming (Arroyo Seco Raceway) once the Wuhan Flu is done for our time attack series!

Hey man, sweet car, you should definitely take this out to Sandia for the time attack series once you get it dialed. I have a similar setup, check out my build thread.

Thanks guys. Yea I went to the time attacks at Sandia, mostly in 2018. Only got to go once last year since the turbo an MS were going in. Cant wait for them to open back up this year, car should be good to go.

Definitely would like to try to make it to Arroyo Seco Raceway.

Looks good. I see you went with the DIY heatshield as well. I couldn't bring myself to pay Flyin' Miata prices for the same thing in $10 worth of aluminum.
