Which Miata and where to start
Hello,
I want to get my first miata and I want to boost it. I live in central Texas we live at triple digits so AC is a must. Also no tracks around here so not looking for a race car or auto cross just a daily driver with turbo and the best bang for my buck.
I have been watching Greg on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/TheCarPassionChannel for a couple weeks now and thinking about a 1.6. Is AC going to be a problem? Also any info on who to work with in central Texas and where to get assist and dyno work. If there is autocross meets here I have never seen them. I live in Temple TX.

OP how much of the work are you capable of doing yourself? Do you have the tools and skills to cut and weld? Are you comfortable ripping a block down to the constituent parts and putting it back together? Do you have a budget in mind?
I'm not skilled enough to weld or cut in a way that's useful, but pretty much everything else I feel OK with. I had sufficient budget to go with a 3rd gen (NC) platform and so that's what I did. There are FAR less expensive ways to get a really solid turbo Miata put together, but most of it depends on your willingness and/or ability to do the work yourself.
