Default Newb: A bit late

Before I start, I was going for a very cheap build. I know mega squirt is king but I was just looking for a 9psi miata as toy.

Ok, picked up a supposedly broken 1990 turbo miata a couple weeks ago, and I've been busy. Me and a buddy went 50/50 on a parts car to supplement my build and his current miata.

$800
1.6L
FMU 12-1 fuel management
Timing Controller
Garret t28

Car ran but dumped gray smoke out the exhaust. Owner thought it had a bad headgasket because he did a compression test and it came back with 25psi on cylinder 4.

Did a compression test and all cylinders were at 155 psi, pulled the turbo off and it puked oil and coolant. The guy was running a 1/4" oil return.... and blew all the seals....

Here is the donor cars last (presumably sucky) hours of life, sorry if the images below frighten and/or scare you.

2-day chop. Titleless car... w/ blown headgasket. ($500) I stole the entire interior out of this car. Including the style bar and seats.

Here is my car before I had it towed back to the house to work on it

Fast forward a week here it is sanded and primed:

The seats are a great improvement over the ones that came with it...

Finished interior:

Took it to maaco for thier $299 special. I know maaco is crap but I did all the sanding and priming beforehand. I've taken cars to this one before and they are better than the average maaco . Shocking I know

With the style-bar from the donor car:

Bought a cheap t25/28 turbo from ebay: (I've fixed the upside-down AFM)

Took about a month from start to finish.
Total cost $1500 and I've got an extra motor, trans, drivetrain, etc from the donor car.

Also big thanks to AAA for towing home my dumb *** projects no questions asked.

End Setup:

1.6L t25/28 9lbs
Innovate Wideband
JDM Sport FMU
Timing controller
NB Injectors
Ford Redfire W2 Paint
