Hey, my name is Ian and this is my miata, as it sits


this is what it looked like when I got it minus the black finish panel,


then I found a bunch of rust, and this happened


no pics of the passenger side, but wouldve made your butt hole clench.

so yeah thats my miata. nothing super special and its rusty as all ****. has rice land currently, but i just ordered a set of tein super streets and megan ruca's. looking to go turbo as soon as i can figure out why i burn oil and fix that.

i wish that was the case. it looks ok from the exterior, but the rockers are shot, the quarters are not in the best condition and the fenders have chipping from improper rolling and the mounting points at the front of the rocker panels is all ate up.

I could go on and on about how shitty the car is but I just enjoy it. the way it is now, it could use a few small things to make it better. but im not worried. i just scooped a bunch of parts from NAPA last week so, with any luck, it wont leak oil any more after im done.

 

so, its an oil leak, and not burning oil?

 

Plans? From your name and choice of suspension, I assume the end-goal is to back it into a guardrail.

 

no it burns, but it also leaks from the front of the motor, so i bought an oil pump, front main, vc gasket and other associated gaskets.

i dont really know where this build will end up, to be entirely honest. I have another project im currently trying to sell and im about to graduate so some things will have to wait.

thanks man, i like them too. someone told me they werent factory and I didnt even know. i like em, might go with some better bulbs though, and go with H4 conversion for the head lamps because they both blow.

 

You can't turbo if it is burning oil because burning oil causes detonation. You've got to fix it first. Welcome.

i never said id turbo it before fix. progression will be

buy stuff
fix (everything)
buy stuff
turbo + proper control (thinking MS3 maybe pnp but well see what kind of time I have)
maybe big motor swap somewhere down the line.
and then maybe profit. we shall see about that one.

also today i got the time to dry my interior out and clean it up a bit, going to wash the carpets and the car. its graduation this week so look for a bunch of stuff coming in thanks to my incredibly generous and well off family.
