New guy from Seattle
Hey all, I am new to posting but have been lurking here for months and have owned Miatas for a little over three years. I figure I am finally close enough to actually bolting the turbo to my car that I ought to introduce myself.
I recently picked up a minty 10ae to replace my 200k mile 96. It was a good car but I made the typical 20 year old mistake of turning it into a "race car" cause whats cooler than that, right? It turns out v8r motor mounts + delrin diff mounts + harness + chattery clutch with 8 lb flywheel did not make for an enjoyable daily. It looked kinda cool though, and was fun to drive if you were in the right mood.
I picked up this 10ae somewhat on impulse, partially because it was blue but also because it has a six speed, torsen, and bilsteins from the factory. My build is nothing ground breaking; gt2560, fm hotside bits, diy ms3x, supermiata clutch and cooling parts. Shooting for a reliable 240ish whp. Hopefully keeping my rods in the engine. (Also pictured is my ridiculous daily, a 1986 subaru xt turbo).
This forum has been an essential place to learn how to do most things Miata related, especially as I get deeper into the megasquirt side of things. I hope to be able to contribute in the future once I have more hands on experience with boost rather than just hours upon hours of research.
