turbo kit of your choice from my above list. even efr can make as low as 200hp with the low boost solenoid.

so for 200hp:
2560r or EFR6258 turbo, manifold, downpipe, wideband, injectors (flow force or Injector dynamics) and ms3. stock clutch should hold to about 200hp.

200-250hp. stronger clutch ( i recommend FM level1), and 3" exhaust

250-300hp stronger rods, better cooling.

300+hp. forged pistons, BE oil pump, ATI damper, ARP studs, 6 speed transmission 3.9 or 3.6 rear end

brakes, suspension, wheels, tires etc... thats a whole separate discussion.
That was my plan exactly. The 250-300hp range, along with all the upgrades you listed. So am I right to want to plan for all this stuff then? Because I planned on getting all of this over time then putting it all in together. Brakes, suspension, etc. was a before I get all the turbo stuff together plan. Was pretty sure I covered all my bases for now, or am I wrong?

you can do it in stages, or put it all in at once, up to you. this pretty much covers all the major things you need installed.

my build is currently at the 250-300hp level.
I dynoed 309hp
my car is 80% street 20% autox/track. so maybe 2-3 track days per year and 4-5 autox days. roughly 5-8k miles per year.

You can see my dyno thread for a more complete list of parts that i have:

Appreciate the offer but no thanks, car looks good though. This is more about the build for me. Good luck on sale.

The build is just and much fun as driving what you made, I feel the same way! Enjoy it and walk away for a day when you don’t, it is all worth it

I’ve been MIA for a while in search of an unabused car in my spec range. Someone near me is selling a stock 01SE with **242k** on the odometer. It’s priced at 2.5k obo and was wondering, is it worth it with that much mileage? It’s way under normal asking price in my area, 4-5k, but not being a Mazda or Miata owner previously, are there any kind of serious issues at that kind of mileage. I just have a weird feeling about putting a lot of power in a car that worn. TIA.

if you'll be rebuilding the block and refreshing the head I wouldn't worry about the mileage too much, as long as the car is clean and there's no rust, for example my O2 has 200 miles on the clock and 5000 miles on the built engine I rebuild and it still feels nice and tight

Mileage doesn't seem to effect these cars like it does some. I wouldn't be afraid at all if it was well kept.
