New guy from NJ! My new-to-me 1990, Mia.
Hey Everyone,
New Here. I picked up a 1990 Miata (only options were A/C, limited slip, and hard top). It has had 3 owners, two of which only had it for a total of 1k miles with the original owner having it until 2014 for 115k of it's life with maintenance records since 1990. The car has 119k miles on it as it stands. Pretty much mint condition and all original, including the paint and the original hard top, which is in as good of condition as my 2015 Lexus IS's paint haha.
Excited to be part of the community. I have modified the car a little bit and will continue to do so (all reversible things) whilst keeping the original parts stored. My car history is as follows:
-2002 Nissan Maxima SE 6-Speed (first car - sold)
-2005 Honda S2000 (sold)
-2012 Subaru WRX hatch (sold)
-2013 Subaru BRZ (sold)
-2015 Lexus IS250 AWD F-Sport (Current - Daily driver)
-1990 Mazda Miata (Current - Weekend/Fun/Amazing)
As she sits now with an R-Package rep lip, TR Motorsports C1M wheels with Dunlop Z2 Star Spec tires, and the original hard-top:
When I got her:
Plans in the near future (next couple weeks) are: Flyin Miata Stage 2.5 suspension, De-powering the steering rack, and maybe a few odds and ends. I drive the car a few times a week for fun and autox it once a month or so. Otherwise, just maintenance as it goes along it's life, as I don't plan to sell it. My favorite I've owned yet.
I'll make a build thread this week to document the car's progression. I'm also pretty into photography, so I'll probably do some photoshoots of the car somewhat often with my DSLR, as the ones posted here are from my iPhone.
Best,
Mark
Side-notes: It is very fun to "Miata" people in parking lots...and blink at people with the headlights...and everything about the car.

Welcome! You weren't at the NJ Miata meet a couple weeks ago at Sandy Hook were you?
I'm down south in Gloucester County but I know some Miata guys in Central/ North NJ. We have another Cruise coming up towards the end of the month. Check out "New Jersey Miata's" Page, and also "Jersey Outlaw Miata" on Facebook to check out the events!
