Noob to turbos

Noob to turbos
I just bought a 1996 miata turbo. The guy that sold it said it needed the oil line reattached and a few other things. Well, I trailered it to my friends shop and got the return oil line fixed. Drove it around for 40 miles on my mustang plates, then went to the department of motor vehicles the next day and got temp plates.
So after looking thru all the boxes I found the previous owners list of crap to do. It's very long! One of the items was "make sure all fluid levels are up" OOPS, I forgot to check the trans and rear end for fluid.(I couldn't/didn't want to really get under the car due to my bad back and hips). Now it is making a horrible grinding noise, so I found another trans the other day and it is ready to go in(have 2 quarts of royal purple waiting to go in)
This car isnt really 100%.
I am running on the stock ECU/PCM. (NO boost for me) I have a greddy thrust box(blue). Its the piggy back system and it has the easy plug in cable already with it. I DO NOT have the software and i'm kinda pissed that it is 140 bux from greddy. Anybody know where to get the software from for free?
So my first question is where does the boost wire go to? I do have a hose off of the intake that is loose.
My second question is: where do i get the damn software?
Third, Ive read the how to install and operate the PCM/ECU. Anybody know how to program it? Is 14.7 a good air fuel mixture?
I also have a greddy bov with no little rubber line attached, where do i hook that up to?
here are a list of upgrades that have been done to the car:
t3/t4 turbo
removal of power steering
wide band O2 sensor with digital gauge
boost gauge (it is working)
190 hp walbro
i have 8 supra injectors waiting to go in. they are neon green in color
I also have a fuel regulator laying in one of the boxes.
many many more that im sure im leaving out
The car does run, but not well.
Thanks for reading any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome buddy the plan is simple... take the bandaids and toss them in the trash (or on ebay) if you have the turbo installed make sure its oild and cooled properly and unhook the wastegate. Buy a standalone ecu and tune up to ~100kpa-~5k rpm with the wastegate unhooked. When your car is running acceptable enough, swap in the new injectors and tune better so the car is now running GOOD up to 100kpa, then hook up the wastegate and tune up to whatever boost your goal is at.

Thanks for the warm welcoming guys...
Well as far as the setup. Funds are a little tight. I'm going to try to run with the piggy back system and not run a whole lot of boost. 14.5lbs is alot. The guy that had the car wanted to sell me the megasquirt system for 400.00, I just wanted to get the miata running. I had a 550hp mustang that got me alot of the wrong attention. with the stock ecu i could only run about 3#'s of boost with out it falling on its face like my mustang did when it was too lean. tomorrow's project is the greddy. I know you guys dont like it but does anybody know anything about the pretty blue box?

I just left a guys house that sold me the european tail lights for 20 bux tonight..... he had a 302 bored out in his miata. Yet it was carb'd with a mild cam. All I can say is, if anybody needs any daisys, he has a full set with rubber. With the a-arm fully extended he had an inch of compression before the exhuast hit the ground.

Why do people always point out their motor is "bored out?" Wow, so a 302 is "bored out" to what, a 306? That was good for .1hp...
Welcome.
1. Sell bandaid on ebay.
2. Buy a programmable ECU
3. ...
4. Profit.

I think this greddy box is screwed up!
ive been going at it for hours tonight. Sitting in the car on the laptop. I did get the autometer wideband o2 sensor working properly tonight.
thanks for all the help. I should have stuck with the big brother to the miata. I know its a struggle and in the end I will be happier cause its a vert!
