For over a year I've been contemplating a new platform to build upon, I've been in the off-roading, car show and drag racing crowd but non of them really caught my interests. A friend of mine at work kept telling me how much he loves his miata and how it's the perfect car, I took it out for a spirited drive and I fell in love. It was only a 1.6 and it had some miles but it was pretty damn fun. I came across this forum and felt right at home compared to the VW and Jeep Forums. I really like how most of the posts on here are based upon experience rather than some guy who's never wrenched on a car giving crap advice. I've read all the stickies and searched for old threads that were relevant to my build plan. I've worked on a few miatas(mostly Maintenance work) and I consider myself a competent mechanic, I've wrenched on all my cars and I believe in doing it right the first time no matter how long it takes(unless you're broken down and need a quick fix to get home). My build plan is still in progress an I hope to get a miata by this summer if not sooner.
