Default turbo vs. supercharger

I have been going back and forth about wanting to put in more power. I am not sure if i want to put in a turbo or supercharger. i have been doing so much reaserch i still am not sure. i like the supercharger because it is an instant power. i like the turbo because you can do so much to it. is it possible to put two turbos in a miata. If and when a person answers please do not be an *** about it.

Supercharger. More torque and instant power everywhere. Also more horsepower.

Studies have shown that people who own superchargers are 67% more likely to own a cashmere sweater, commit sodomy, and develop Primary Idiopathic Polymyositis than those who own turbochargers.

Also, welcome to the forum, Steven.

Supercharger lag can be a bitch but when it spools up it will give you some serious top end!

Also, turbo whine is very annoying.

You need stage 2 heads and a stage 3 exhaust if you are even considering a turbo.

It depends on your goals, budget, and what characteristics you want out of the car. List that stuff and we can give you a better idea about which option is best. Also, is it your only car?

Just fyi this is a turbo forum, and people are going to haze the sh*t out of anyone who says anything about superchargers. Survive that and there is a wealth of knowledge here.

Post the same question over at www.miatasupercharger.net. See how helpful they are (not very) and then come back here and we will help you put a turbo on your car.

It depends on what you want to do with the car. My car is supercharged and is perfect for it's intended task. Others have goals that make turbos a better choice.

If you're a commuter, put in a supercharger.

If you're a driver, put in a turbocharger.
