Default 3rd analogue input? MS3Pro PnP 99 Miata

I have analogue input 1 & 2 used for fuel pressure and oil pressure, is there a 3rd analogue input I can use for the oil temp sensor, and if so, where is it?

Hmm, indeed. The manual clearly lists Analogue input 3 as...

Hmm, now what could we infer from this harrowing discovery?

Righto, that’s what I was hoping to have clarified, thanks. The “into to megasquirt thread” mentions that the MS3 basic has 5 inputs with built in pull up resistors - and I was just wondering why it would have so many, while the MS3Pro PnP has just 2 (with no pull ups?).

So I guess I need to now toddle off and search for n analogue to can converter box of some sort...

It is possible to add AI channels through accessory CAN devices. I do believe also if you're not using an external MAP sensor that you can use that pin as another analog input for easy mode if you only need one more.

Also MS3 Basic and MS3Pro PnP are made by different companies, hence the initial confusing information. It's certainly not trvial figuring these things out, but the absolute best way to get up to speed is just to dive head first into the reading as much technical documentation as possible. Might also want to skim an into engineering lecture or something on DAQ basics.

The way I understood for external MAP, is that there is only one analog input for the MAP sensor. There's a jumper that you select internal MAP or external MAP, so that tells me that if you select internal MAP, then the input pin for external goes nowhere.

Hey thanks acedeuce - that’s what I was wondering about the MaP sensor channel, but just didn’t have the language to articulate it correctly!😊

Reverant, I can’t tell - are you guys still making fun of me, or have I made a cogent criticism of the MS3PRO PnP?

The latter, but this is what competition is all about - getting a better product out for the consumer.
