VE analyze and Autotune seems funny (noob)
I've got about 500miles on the engine and the same on this ecu. I have the ID1000 data in now and it runs awesome. I've been trying to figure out the tunig stuff, but I'm back in school and so little spare time. Hoping to let the AutoTune software get me close and harmless to drive. Still need detcans.
It continues to make a big fuel jump 4k-rpm and up. I have tried to lower it manually and it keep spiking it back up. It is running a 2.5in turbo FM exhaust, square top, skunk throttle, 3in intake, so it may be mechanically happy at higher RPM.
Also the 15% range keeps going silly rich. ideas? Sorry for my lack of time and noobness. Curious if this is something to be concerned about or just say "It screams like a banshee high up" Digging though threads the VE table jump seems odd.
08-9home.msq raw autotune
08-9homefinal.msq After the ---- touch
Following image is after VE ----'s it
there seems to be a big leap at 4k and up<br/>

I lost internet for a second, plus my .msl datalog doesn't seem to want to upload
My file labeling is as follows:
-date and where I went
-date and where I went+the word final is after VE analyze has messed with it
-logs are label to match when I can remember.
What is the file upload size restriction? Will .msl not upload?

I'm in between classes so here goes. I should add this is a N/A car. Didn't put the turbo on so I could learn to tune first.
This is the 3d after a 45min drive to school. A few spike I need to smooth out. Buddy was following me and says it smokes a hair when I get on it. I'm thinking it's dumping fuel out the tail as I have no cat converter. White thin smoke.

Here is the after school run auto tune. Concerned I'm doing it seriously wrong. The car is N/A so I should have a big window to screw up in. My maps just seem wrong in comparison to what my memory says it should look like. The big jump in fuel seems odd. It idles fine about 14.2-14.8 ish depending on the day. No longer stalls. Just seems wrong. I appreciate any help. I know from previous posts I "should be" idling around 70-80 maybe.
Reverent built the ECU and it is his base map. It has moved a lot from his base settings, but the ID1000's info is all I've change other than some idle stuff.

I used a propane torch and couldn't get any noticeable idle change. Doesn't appear to be a vac leak. I'll try again later. Did a compression test though just in case. 192-195 psi across the board. II guess I'll keep trying to diagnose some oddity. I looked and Autotune isnset to normal as well. Maybe I should change to hard?
Also is there a file size limit. Still won't let me upload my data logs.

-It looks like your dead time is off. The high VEs at low PW are indicative.
-the fact that it appears to be RPM related and not flow leads me to question the electrical system. What is the battery voltage doing there? Is it possible the alt belt is slipping?

Just opened the tune. You need to use "incorporate AFRTarget" under general settings for a VE table to have any real world values. Otherwise you are not tuning VE, you are tuning ~VE/AFRTarget, which IMO is worthless.
Correction, ~VE*AFRTarget
Correction, ~VE*AFRTarget

I'll double check the dead time stuff. I'm fairly sure I put it in as directed from ID but things happen and there is always a variance in things. I assume you mean this stuff. https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquir...h-fuels-85527/
And also need to find the menu for this. I did not mess with it, or if I did I don't remember. I blame the Stout Beer.
18psi - you set up injector voltage compensation too right? not just dead time and req fuel
^ I may need to look into this bit. My apologies.
Side question. Should removing the fuel pump fuse not allow me to connect the laptop to the ecu? Seems to be an odd correlation.

You know it never dawned on me. You're saying check the voltage at the injectors themselves and the MS3 then cross refence with the log? I'll see if my Elec engineer father know of these things. He caught the other ground issue I had to solve.

Yes, if the megasquirt thinks the voltage is 12V while it's actually 13.6 you'll have a bad time. If your injector deadtime voltage is correct but the megasquirt has the wrong voltage it won't work right.
MS2 has a voltage ADC min and max for shifting voltage to match, I don't know if the MS3 is similar.

I'll check it out. I will add it is a brand new NA alternator. The NB one had some bad bearings and I got a new NA one for it it. Figured since I needed one might as well avoid the whole NA charging alternator stuff.
