Default 99 Ms2 No Spark While Cranking, Sparks in Test mode

Hey guys so I'm trying to shoot down why my car won't start. I've got it down to not getting spark while cranking. I thought it may have been something going on with my cops but I just went through the output test mode and the coils fire that way. I switched the cam and crank sensors from my brother's nb and have had the same issues. Maybe some relay gone astray?? Thanks in advance.

Do you get an RPM signal while cranking?

No rpm jump while I'm cranking. Here's a quick datalog of trying to start:

Try making a composite log of an attempted start. This will tell us more about why you're not seeing RPM.

You won't get spark until the MS registers an RPM signal.

Was the car running before and just stopped or did you change something on the car?

It's not hard for the crank sensor wiring to touch a belt and get chewed through if it's not secured, but if you're swapping sensors you've probably already checked that.

Just tried getting a composite log but I couldn't get it to show any events at all. Tried the tooth and trigger as well but they are showing nothing while I'm cranking. And the car was running and while I was driving the engine slowly started to cut out once every minute and it just happened more and more frequent to where it was completely undriveable so I got it home and now it won't start. I changed out the cam and crank sensors and still no start..

what in the world? I didn't touch the cam/crank input wiring and that that was syncing great on my bench before I sent it back.

Is it possible you opened it up in your old TS project without first updating the new firmware I loaded and somehow corrupted it or something?

so you are able to connect to it no issues right now right? can you upload the msq thats currently loaded on it so I can take a look and see if something got messed up?

that doesn't make any sense!

I updated everything like I was supposed to! And it connects and doesn't keep losing sync like before so at least that is a plus. Maybe I did mess something up though, who knows.. Here's my msq:

well, losing sync and losing connection is two different things.

losing sync suggests the cam/crank signals are dropping out and the MS doesn't know the RPM and fails to spark.

losing connection means your laptop cant communicate with the MS.

Ahhh ok. Well shouldn't the composite logger show something if I am getting any signal from the crank or cam sensors?

it should. crank for about 15-20 seconds and save one out and attach.

I'm really confused as to why youre not seeing activity, I know I didn't move those wires, there was no need obviously, and I was syncing for hours on the bench.

Just discovered a couple exposed wires after following my crank sensor. I think this may be my problem. I'll get back to you guys in a bit. Thanks a lot for the help!
