Default Bog/hesitation after shift

I'm going to start his off by saying I'm a complete noob at tuning/megasquirt. My knowledge is based off YouTube google and reading here. The car was running fantastic then a problem started happening while cruising around town. After I shift and release the clutch in the next gear the car would bog for the next second or 2 and then be fine. Since I was waiting on my new injectors I didn't bother digging into it since I was going to have to adjust my ve table. New injectors installed and the problem is even worse. I don't know if it's correlated but I was messing with the map based ae to try to fix it and I noticed even if the map dot isn't on the curve it always dips rich when I hit the throttle. I don't know where else to look, I've attached the tune file and couple of logs, I'd appreciate it if someone could take a look at it and see if there's anything I missed or could be improved on. The car is a 1.6 with a greddy turbo kit, ID 1050x injectors, mspnp2 and AC

Your VE table is pretty rough. That makes it hard to set AE.

I don't know how to tune MAP only AE except EAE, which makes much more sense to me. Still, you will have great troubles tuning the AE if you don't tune the VE table first.

Your AFR targets are too lean at 100kPa, and too rich at 170kPa.

You are not using EGO at idle. I know this is not your present issue, but you will find this an issue soon. I also do not have any understanding how "Simple" EGO correction works. I mean, it may be great, I just am not familiar with it.

Do you have an intercooler? If so, why do you have MAT corrections up to 250 *F, and timing correction to 260*F?

I think you are pulling too much fuel at 140F MAT.

I question your MAT readings. They never change much and hover around 90F, in Feb. But I don't know where you live. Still, MAT should change some with boost. NVM, you don't go into boost.

Biggest issue: VE Table


The AE response you need at 2200 RPM will be huge to keep you from going lean into that valley, and then when you put that much fuel when at 3000 RPM, you bog rich.

Those are my thoughts.

Thank you for taking the time to look over everything. I haven't had a chance to get to a dyno with work getting in the way so I've been auto tuning as I drive to and from work. I'll work on getting everything smoothed out until I get a chance to get some dyno time. I'm running the flyin miata intercooler but when I took the logs it was after a decent chunk of stop and go city traffic so it's probably heat soak from Texas weather. Do you suggest I disable AE until the table is cleaned up and then come back to it?

Hey I just looked at your tune file and compared it to my NA 1.8. I've been messing my TS for a about 9 months while I build my motor.

Like DNMakison said, your VE table looks pretty rough. When you start tuning, I find it easiest to start out with the VE table and then once that is pretty darn perfect, you can start messing with any sort of AE. If your VE table is not right, you'll just be kicking yourself trying to get AE right. You can even disable all AE and be very light on the throttle and lift so that you dont get lean or rich spikes.

Have you tried using the auto tune feature?

While my VE is not perfect and I'm a beginner tuner. You should have as smooth a VE table as possible. Note, don't just copy since mine is for NA 1.8 and yours is turbo 1.6.

I've been working on his VE table and smoothing it after looking at his logs.

We are still fighting acceleration enrichment. I'll try and post more data later, but I could use some help.
