Default MAP sensor failure / sticking?

Is it possible for a MAP sensor to stick?

Every so often when pulling away from idle the car doesn't respond, and the engine dies.

It's not engine tuning, as this is new behaviour on a tune that hasn't changed. it's also inconsistent. most of the time the car behaves as you'd expect.

I'll post logs tonight of the behaviour, but looking at the log you can see TPS moving from 0% to about 6%, AE kicks in etc, but there is virtually zero change in MAP. After 1/2 - 1 second, suddenly the MAP value changes.

I'm just wondering if this is a failure more someone has seen before, before I go the the hassle of replacing the sensor.

Cheers

The most common cause of a MAP sensor sticking is a pinched vacuum line.

And that's what the issue was!

The silicone vac hose I'd used had degraded to the point that under vac it was closing. even worse, it'd become sticky, and stuck closed briefly before opening up when vac reduced.

Pretty disappointing as it was relatively expensive hose, and was only 4 years old.

Failure after only 4 years?
I'm still using the original hose that came with the LINK that I installed last millennium. Only it's hooked up to MS3 now. Whatever FM used back then seems to be great quality!
