Confusion on MS years. 01-05
Hi guys,
I've been a member on this board for a few days, and I've been lurking like crazy.
I just purchased an 03 Miata, that I'm looking to turbo. I want to cut to the chase and go EMS. MS of course seems to be the way to go. There's a fellow that's selling an 01 DIYPNP, and is within my price range.
I'd like to know if it's will work for my 03. The MS website only shows for 99-00, I know that it won't control VVT without the controller.
So pretty much, will this 01 DIYPNP work on my 03? And if not, what do I have to do to make it work? I'm not good at soldering on circuit boards, I can solder some wires though ha ha.

Heres the link to the build on the DIYPNP

The wiring for the MSM can be different than the other cars. On the ’04 MSM at least, power isn’t wired like my ’00, 4S is key switch on power, NOT4AF. Until you turn on the main relay by grounding 3H, 4AF doesn’t have power. It’s probably easiest to use a spare INJ output to ground 3H as soon as you turn on the ignition (activate the INJ output when coolant >-60 degrees or so). See also this thread. This information was never verified by me.

For '01-'05, the wiring is highly similar, though not 100% identical. A few changes happened in '03 (eg: the ECU now switches the Main Relay on and off.)
A DIYPnP built for an '01-'02 car could be reworked to fit an '03-'05 car relatively easily if you know what you are doing.
