Default Cooling fan issue

Hi All,
I have 04 miata with MS3X (by Braineak), the thing is that when i set the turn fan on value over 94* the fan will still go on 94, the same goes for the turn off value as long as it over 88* the values mean nothing, the fan will turn on at 94 and will shot off at 88.
My AC fan and my cooling fan were linked together, i thought that that might have something to do with it, so i disconnected them from each other, then i set the turn on value to 90* and only the AC fan turned on.
So i guess i am using the wrong I/O or the setup is incorrect.

Below is the diagram for the ECU connector :

And here is the Fan control:

According to the ECU connector Inj G is responsible for the cooling fan so why i have Inj F as the output pin?
When i tried to set it to Inj G i got an error that i have a conflict because Inj G is already in use for "fan out" (which i can't find where to define)

Below is the programmable on/off outputs

So i guess it turned on only below 94* and not in higher temps because the threshold is 93.3, but why its only turns off at 88* and not higher temps?

Thanks a lot,
Rom

Turn off that output for pin G.

Go to:
Tunerstudio
Click "Basic/Load Settings"
Click "Fan Control"
Adjust settings there.

ROM
I too have precisely this issue with a recently installed brain built MS3X. In 2000 miata

Patsmx5, as he already said , manipulations of the fan control utilizing :
Tunerstudio
Click "Basic/Load Settings"
Click "Fan Control"
Adjust settings there. Does Not Work

SAME AS ME

Fan comes on at 192 +/_ F and cannot cool below 180 or so so it wont switch off. If i wait till the car cools below 177-178 F or so ( turn engine off leave ignition on) then the fan goes off. Whatever changes I make to the fan controls, discussed above, wont change those activation/ deactivation temperatures. The temp senser in rear of head ( 2000 miata) in new from mazda . I can read that the ecu grounds the fan relay switch when the fan goes on and when the fan is off the relay switch ground is not seen through the ECU.
I have triple checked all my calibrations.
Output pin is set at Inj F

Im wondering about the fan control module in my ms3x or perhaps some setting that I have in error.

Any ideas
regards

goucho

FWIW I've had a case where i setup a programmable on/off output, then disabled it, and although it was disabled, the values in it were somehow used over my fan settings. I had to go in and delete the numbers/settings for that pin, then it went to working right. Worth a shot. Stupid problem but I've had that happen before.

But I've had other problems with my outputs. Recently I set them up to drive some LED warning lights, and sometimes they work, sometimes they dont. No rhyme or reason it seems. One pull they are fine, next, nothing. It's gotta be a software problem with MS I would think, cause the settings are not changing but the behavior does.

Thanks for that I got the unit built and tuned by Brain.I have not touched any programmable outputs but maybe when it was flashed.... some glitch or whatever . Ive asked him, I was just was surprised to see this thread dead on my topic.... go figure!

To be continued......

Thanks for the reply.
So lets say i will now disable Inj G from the programmable pins and delete the numbers as well.
I will use Inj G as the output for the "Fan control", but what will control the AC fan (inj F)? how will it be activated?
Also as i mentioned when tried to use Inj G (cooling fan) in the "Fan control" i get a conflict error with "fan out" any idea where do change it? or it is referring to the programmable pins?

Thanks a lot!

goucho - it good to know that we are not alone , please update if you figure it out.

INJ G is your main fan.
INJ F is your a/c fan.

listening to pat = disabling your a/c fan.

If you want to tune your cooling fan, tune the programmable output for INJ G, if you want to tune your cooling fan tune "fan control".

The reason I set it up this was is so you can have "dual-stage" fan control, where the a/c fan activates at a temperature above the cooling fan, and so the a/c fan can also turn on with the a/c activation.

Thanks!

So how can i control the "fan off" temp?

the above suggests it will turn on at 93.3°C and off only when it's below 87.7°C again.

That is the hysteresis. 93.3 - 5.6 = 87.8

yeah, tuning the hysteresis, is how youll tune the "off" temp.

Brain

well that answeres a few questions ... and also creates a few more .
In the programmable outputs it has port settings of :
1) power on value and
2) active value
What is the difference between these two?.

Using English vernacular .... I take this to mean that :

1) is : use only the value at power on ...or
2) use the active value ( in this case temperature and its obvious changes) that it is at anytime after power on.

IS this correct?

Why are these temps in Celcius when the rest of my unit uses Farenheight? Just checking I do not have a units problem

thank you much.

Regarding the "power on value" i think it turns it on once the ecu is on, the "active value" is according to the values that are defined.
