Well I'm getting close to being able to get my project started....been a long time coming!

Using DIY standalone ms2. Just need to plumb the fuel system and should be ready to try a start. Before anyone says anything the poxy little air filter is just there for now.

Couple of questions: The fuel pressure regulator. Do I remove the solanoid valve from it and just plumb it straight to manifold pressure?

Secondly (and this isn't really a megasquirt question). The charging system. I've ignored it until now. I just have cut wires running from the alternator. Firstly will I harm the alternator if I start the engine without it connected (take the belt off first maybe). Second - what is the simplest way to wire up charging system from scratch. I think I have the regulator somewhere although I haven't a clue what it does and how to wire it.
