Default critize the neighbors " I'm a tuner" tune for a 12pck of beer & 3 rolls of TP.

chassis: 1994
engine : 1.8 stock internals no P/S no A/C Iat installed on stock cross over intake (temp)
ecu: ms2 DIY
injectors: stock 1.8
cooling: re-route with turbo water line (capped)

car is getting ready for a gt 2560R to be dropped in with RX8 injectors (not installed currently) and walbro pump. Trust gtr34 intercooler. Waiting on china manifold to ship ******* CORONAVIRUS. and then the car will be properly tuned at XACT dyno Phoenix, AZ.
anyways neigbor with a tuned sti approahced me after doing some "adventured-spririted drivign around the block" and asked if had some specialty tools.... and he be willing to take a loot at my tune as he tunes his own car. Given is not a miata but theory of engines tuning should account for something right? He primarely messed with the base spark maps and advanced spark as well with the ve table.

Insults, jokes, recommendations, memes are all encorueged but should I run this tune on the car?

Couple things before I even talk about the numbers in the tables. I like all those tables and more to have a few of the same attributes:

1. Same upper RPM limit, your red line is the same for all the tables, why should the highest columns be different?

2. Always have a column at your idle RPM. I don't like splitting between two columns to tune idle AFRs and stabilize with ignition.

3. Always have the same upper KPA limit. Again you'll always sweep through these tables identically, why shouldn't they have an identical "ceiling"?

That's the basics, there are many other things I'd change but they're all a little more picky. Anyways, you have none of these attributes so no, I don't think your neighbor did a good job.

let alone the TP the modelo's! haha, thanks for the input I'm still currently running trubbokittys base map but I wanted expert pointers to look for when I let someone else tune it.

And I'd consider 13.0-13.2 in your 84kpa row, as long as you are tweaking that area.

Isn't 12.4-12.8 considered ideal for maximum thermo efficiency and output? Would it not yield the highest combustion chamber temps?

Negative. Leaner is hotter.

Looks pretty good except timing in boosted cells may be a little much. But not a problem if you don't plan to use them.

https://trubokitty.com/#/tune

Download that base map. Export the spark table from that base map then open your tune and import the spark table.

Default Update

I just wanna thank everyone who helped me get this thing going with the tune .... engine had 189k and only lasted 200 miles of very bad abuse on my part lol .... now a whole summer later the engine has been rebuilt using the top **** I could afford .... now after swapping the bp4w Head to the 94 block and swapping intakes and TB I can’t get the thing to start suspecting a faulty wiring ..... check the thread here: https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquir...5/#post1585005
