Default Did my MAP sensor die

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but before I go and start unsoldering **** I wanna be certain. I have the stock 2.5bar sensor in my diypnp. This morning on my first hard pull the car ran and built boost like normal until suddenly it just died. I pulled over and tried to restart. It wouldn't fire until a power cycle. Rinse and repeat one more hard pull (for science) and same results.

Luckily I had my laptop handy and did a few logs. On every pull the boost would build to 175kpa, then the map would drop to ~15 kpa then jump and take a set somewhere between 230kpa-250kpa. It would stay there until a power cycle. When it did this the car would smell pig rich. I can't show my log until later since I'm posting off my phone.

To me that sounds like a dead map sensor, but before I swap it with the output coming out my aem boost guage, I want to be sure that it's not some other crazy known bug or something.

So new development . On my drive home the problem wasn't happening. I could boost all I want and the car ran great. No stalls. I then plugged in my laptop to do a log or two to compare and bam instantly the map was going wonky. Tried it twice and it locked up both times. I then realized that I made one change a few days back. I was having interference problem with my usb extension cable so I replaced it with a serial cable extension. Being the only thing different I unplugged my laptop from the ecu and instantly all is well again. Boost for days. So with that It appears that this radio shack serial extension cable does not play well with the diypnp...

Has anyone heard of issues with serial cables? I know usb's tend to have interference issues but Ive never heard about serial.

Most likely cause is operator error or loose nut behind the wheel. You are russian descendant after all.
