Damn, I like this, will it work with 99+ cars though?

Very nice!

Wow, that is awesome! I'm assuming it allows enough room to fit an MS2 processor for down the track?

What about one for 99+?
|
just got off the phone with Lars....he's saying this thing is 2000% more than he ever expected, and he'll have more pics later.
Full ECU replacment and everything works; a/c, fans, idle, etc. all for $700, that's pretty insane... actually, just the fact that Hustler will finally buy something is the icing on the cake. |
Man that is sweet, they've got something going for them for sure.
That connector also looks just like the 3 plug multilock connector my '99 uses in the ECU. |

oh yeah, i think he said they are also buying a 94-97

First of all I want to say it was great meeting Jerry, Matt, and I believe Justin from DIY. They were all great guys and knew what they were doing.
There were alot of cars their of all makes and models. I was pleasantly surprised with the turn out and variety of cars. The best HP number I saw was 320+ on a 4cylinder mustang running something like 23psi on a t32 turbo. Now to get to the PNP MegaSquirt. It was an amazing piece of hardware. From looking at it it is well worth the 700$ that are guessing it will be sold out at. The install directions that they have posted are exactly all you need to do to get it to work. I think it will be the easiest Standalone install out there. As for the 94-95 PNP Squirt, they said it is on its way and should hopefull be done soon. They need to get a 94 or 95 miata to do all the testing on before it is released. Over all the brief time I spent with them was very informative. I would have loved to have stayed longer and hung out with all the MS people there. I think the best thing I saw all day was when Ken said he was just going to go write some code for MS for the Chevy engine they were palying with. |
will the separate harness adapter kit be made available?
|
Anyone want to buy a fully ready MS1 v3.0?
|
when do you accept order or reservation deposit on this ms1pnp? im ecited,
|
If this thing is truly going to be PnP, ie. unplug stock ECU, plug in MS, turn key... I wonder what will happen to the price of a new Link in the next few months considering it makes about 10 more rwhp for less than 1/2 price.
|
1.6 FM Link has already been discontiuned.
G3 is out at 1100 retail, but their group buy is 20% off. |
akaryrye no the PNP harness will not be sold on its own. It is very much built into the box and enclosure so selling them individually would be harder to do then building your own boomslang harness.
castillejos2000 Jerry said hopefully May 11th will when they officially released. They still have a few more things to iron out before it is finished. Samnavy I think over all prices of other standalones will stay the same for the time being. The reason I think that is simply because places like FLying Miata can taylor maps to each individual person while I dont think DIY will go that far. They will offer the stock map and you are on your own for most other tuning. It will ultimately be take to much man power for DIY to figure out maps for each individual application. FM just has a whole lot more time and experience in that area. This might change in the future though so we will see. Overall I think MS being PNP will put alot of pressure on other stand alones out there. Unless you need a specific feature that the tec3 or hydra offers that MS dosent have there is really no reason now not to go with MS. |
Jerry at DIYAutoTune.com and I are still working out the logistics, so stay tuned, but FYI...
So he can focus on development of the 94-97 unit (the one I've been waiting for!), MiataRoadster.com will be coordinating a limited group buy on Jerry's behalf to get word of mouth going on this amazing tuning tool. There will be a limit on participants (TBD) and it will be 1st come/1st paid/1st served. If seriously interested, email me @ Bill@MiataRoadster.com and I'll post updates as we get closer to the 5/11/07 release date. Thanks, Bill |
