Default Do you need an MAF with megasquirt?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have been reading all I can about Megasquirt and now plan to build and use one and I am assuming that you do not have to have the MAF installed. Is that correct? Car is a 90 Miata with a T25 turbo, intercooler, and then Megasquirt. I am mocking up the complete physical installation and if I do not need the OEM MAF then it really changes what I do for air filter placement etc. From everything I read I cannot find where is says you do not need it, but on the other hand it does not refer to it so am I correct in assuming you do not need it? Thanks.

Megasquirt uses a MAP sensor. You don't need your AFM with megasquirt. You will need to jumper the fuel pump on though and install a GM IAT sensor.

Is the Fuel pump relay is completely independent of the MAF on 94+?

Someone else will have to chime in, all i know is some of the guys have to jumper the fuel to keep the pump running. Might only be for AFM cars though.
