OK here is a embarrassing question. I have been away from my MS-projekt for a month or so and now I canīt remember where I was supose to put in a jumper( boot jumper) before downloading msns-extra firmware. I have forgotten what the boot jumper is. Please help...

its two little holes on the board that say 'boot' next to them. above the prototype area. just put a folded staple in the holes.

I use EasyTherm to download the software to the MS and that doesn't require the boot jumper to be used.

If you already have the msnse firmware in your MS and you are just upgrading to a newer version, then you don't need to cap the boot jumper at all. Msnse does this internally for you!

remember not to have ignition hooked up when your burning the firmware, It can fry your coils apparently!

Thanks! Lucky for me that I have done a PnP-box with switches for coils and injectors.

THAT is a fantastic idea... I'll likely do the same, added convenience AND security.

like to take the cred for it but I stole the idea from "Reverant". My box is a semi-solution compare to his, but itīs nice to be able to go stock if something goes wrong.

I for one, thank myself all the time for building the pnp box. I would do it time and time again if need be.

I don't have a garage or some other form of parking space at which I can do stuff on the car, much less solder or crimp in a tight confined place. There grew the need for a pnp box: Solder and arrange in the comfort of my workbench @home, open car door, install box, turn key, tune.

I am doing something similar, I just made a pass-through harness for the 97 so that I can cut without hacking up the stock wiring harness. I'm using insulated bullet connectors to make it all PnP.
