Default Fan not turning on

Today I got my car started for the first time on the MS in standalone mode! It idles a little rough and unstable but i'm yet to tune it. I do currently have an issue with my cooling fan not turning on though.

I built my MS1 v3 standalone for my 94 1.8 miata and followed brain's guide for the fans mod. When the squirt is plugged in (on both the stim and in the car) and the temperature goes up, the LED comes on indicating that the fan is activated. I can see that its been activated on megatune too. However the fan on my car does not come on and i dont know why.

I've wired pin 29 on the DB37 to 1L in the car (Black and Green) which is for the cooling fan. Any ideas?

Just out of interest, how come on the megasquirt it shows 2 fan controls?

one is on, the other is off.

I've had this issue with LHD miatas, I assume yours is too... It seems the wiring for the fan is different. verify that position is actually black/green

My wiring is the same and my car is RHD (which i think you meant to say)

I just found a post by you brain here: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t31501/

I feel a bit because I didnt solder the wire between the middle LED and IAC1B. I'm guessing thats my problem right?

If it is, you might want to upload that same pic into your build thread as I was following your build thread and it had no mention of that extra wire.

depends on how you built the fan mod. are you using Q7 or did you build a new circuit?

then yes, you need that wire to connect the transistor to your harness.

We are having this same issue. I double checked the fan mod and the wiring harness. We for sure have the output going to the black and green wire and everything else seems fine.
Originally the mod was setup to JS0 on the board and we changed it to JS3 thinking that was the issue. It turned out that the wire on the standalone harness was going to 1O instead of the 1L that was necessary.
Now that we have it all hooked up the fans turn on but they turn on as soon as we turn the key on regardless of what temperature settings we use in megatune under the JS3 output.
We are now going to switch the fan mod back to JS0 to see if we can make that output work correctly.

That fixed the fans for me.

If you are having a problem with your fans always being on, test the ms with a stim plugged into your computer with megatune running and remember to put the right temperature settings on (in the right units of deg C or deg F)
