fml no power to mspnp 90-93
Ok so car was idling in the garage and as i went to drive out it stopped, like everything lol. still has battery power and turns over fine but i have no power to the ecu. Tried replacing the cas at first as i had no spark then noticed the pump was not priming so i check the power to that but the relay seems to be clicking and the fuse is good. any body have a detailed description on testing the relay? could a bad relay keep power from going to the ecu?
by no power i mean theres no 12v going to the ecu. i still have accesory power to my radio and the car will crank over but that is. no spark no fuel no lights on the ms, i plugged the laptop in and it wont connect of course. theres power at the main fuse and no burnt fuses.
Do you have 12V at the ECU plug if the ECU is disconnected from it?
So after looking at it again i fixed a few bad-looking grounds with no effects and found out the big (main-looking) relay works and clicks as i turn the key on, power at all the large fuses by the main fuse and still no workie
You will need to trace the circuit that powers the ECU. I'm guessing main relay (because you indicate fuses and ign switch are good), but you'll need to go through your harness to find out. Just because it clicks doesn't mean it works.
Out of curiosity, did you test the ECU connector's 12V against what ground? Could be that the engine ground is broken somewhere, so if you tested 12V against the ground on the connector, there would be no power on the voltmeter.
That's the only cause I can think of, if the main relay checks out. Or could be the power wire broken somewhere. Best of luck with that!

Was this ever resolved I'm having the same issue but I'm stuck on the highway. I replaced the main relay b6s8 with the new je16 but still no power.
The only difference noticed is that I'm running a gen2 mspnp.
