I just installed my megasquirt following how to. When megatune connects to my megasquirt it starts beeping like crazy and the on screen gauges go nuts, it also says reset and counts up in the bottom right. Any ideas?

 

it should only beep once when connected. sounds like youre having communications problems.

 

now when I open mega tune it says
expected - Msns extra format 029q ******** found in ini file
recived - ms/Extra format hr_10 ******** from controller

 

you didn't load load the high res code in megatune.

 

Do you mean the map? I am using one I got from diy autotune. The base maps in your build thread are gone. Thanks for any help man.

 

no, megatune is looking for 029q, you dont have that firmware loaded.

 

What did I do wrong? And most importantly how do I fix it?

 

Well I figured out that I did not put the hr10 files in the right place, I left them in the hr10 folder. But the problem is still there, beeping and going crazy. Also the 2 outside leds on the megasquirt are lit up when the ignition is on if that means anything. Please help I need my car!!!

 

just reflash it again with the hr10 code, follow the instructions that can be found in the megasquirt thread,

Yeah, I screwed up and a an extra chip on the board that wasn't needed.

 

I have this same problem on my mspnp. same error comes up when i open megatune with the ignition on. It then wants to close megatune. How do I fix this? I bought the unit used and I am just trying to get the car running on the base map to set the initial timing
