Laptop and MS3x refusing to talk to each other
Things I do know:
-The car runs (poorly but clearly the MS is working)
-drivers on laptop are installed (2.28 FTDI driver for the com ports and what not)
-Baud rate 115200 on TS and COM settings on laptop
-Tried COM port 1, 4, 6, none work.
-portcheck shows that the computer is recognizing the MS(shows MS3x etc etc)
When I go to create a new project and detect the firmware already on the MS, TS says that there is no controller connected, which seems to go against the fact that my computer is recognizing that there is a megasquirt hooked up to it.
I'm out of ideas. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled TS(I'm using the beta that braineack says to DL in his instructions), restarted my laptop, to no avail. Anyone have this happen?

Are any of the red lights on an MS3x supposed to turn on when you're KOEO? Just curious. The laptop detects the MS when I'm KOEO.

the drivers for the cable.
what cable are you using? is it the printer cable that most ms3 guys use or is yours running on one of those serial-to-usb old style ones?
And when "detect ecu definition" or whatever didn't work, I'd just manually point it to the file and it would work afterwards.

EDIT: wait, so you manually told it what the firmware was and it worked? I don't even have it, I'd have to get it from braineack.

And if you have a usb port, you're using it I hope. That's the easiest way.
I believe the MS3 will enumerate even when key is off. That is, windows will recognize the connection.

also, just go ahead to run whatever the current release of TS is. There's no need for the beta software anymore. I need to update those docs, they were written when the newer ms3 firmware requred Beta TS to be able to connect.
