Default Live Burns and Stalling remedy

On my MS2PNP, burning changes to the ecu while the car is running results in a split second where the car commits suicide. Sometimes it catches itself, sometimes it doesn't. I've been giving it a blip of throttle when I click burn and it runs fine. However, I'm wondering if this is in any way damaging to the ECU or engine. Is there a better way to burn live changes without upping to MS3? Or am I just paranoid?

It doesn’t damage the engine any more than a typical fuel/ignition cut, but as far as I know there is no remedy. Set your idle to 1500 target while tuning.

No damage done. Just do it while idling or blip the throttle and do the burn the moment you release the throttle.

Perfect. It will still stall at idle (or very nearly catch itself around 250/300rpms, but blipping the throttle works very well. I'll keep doing that!

This sounds rude, but it's not.
Tune your idle well enough so the blip doesn't kill the engine. It should easily recover from the blip. I know mine easily recovers from 600rpm idle.

No offense taken, I’m completely new to tuning!

I feel like my idle is pretty solid. I’ve got the stock taper profile. Cold starts up to 1400 or so then drops down to 870-900ish. AFRs mid 13s (yes, low, I’ll try raising the target and see if it helps). Hot starts it drops down to 870 within a second. It seems to recover itself most of the time now, maybe 3/4 times. Maybe I’m missing something. I was blipping while burning, but tonight I tried both holding it at say 1500 and burning and burning after blipping, they both work well.

Another weird issue is it sporadically stalls when I open tables. For example, I was messing with Accel enrich tonight, and multiple times I’d open the table and the car would stall/drop. Other times it didn’t. I’ve had the same happen with the VE table, and I think the AFR table too. Not sure what causes it, it seems to be common when I’m using VE Analyze live but I wasn’t paying close attention to what else I was doing in TS each time it happened.

It’ll do a burn if needed any time you open a table/menu if you have VEAL running.
