Default Looking for a megasquirt for 04

Hi, I'm new to the site but I've got a garage full of premature purchases and a car begging for boost. I've probably put the ms in a cart 50 times but can't bite the bullet and shell out 1200 bucks. So if someone has one for sale or knows someone please let me know. I'm in east Tennessee but I'm open to shipping or driving

Ever looked at the MS3 Mini? Its about 640$ & has the vast majority of the features of the MS3Pro. Only issue I can see is no barometric correction, depending on how hilly your area is.

I hadn't heard of those until you. I've looked at the diy ones you build but I have no clue what I'd need/not need and all that hassle I've searched tons of plug and plays haven't seen that one. Where would I find it?

Either PM Reverant on this forum (He makes them) or buy them from BOFI Racing

https://bofiracing.co.uk/product/ms-...-and-play-ecu/

Not sure how much Reverant charges for them, haven't PM'd him myself yet.

Thanks man I appreciate the input. I had originally bought the car with a 20000 mile professionally built turbo motor, trans and ecu had all the paperwork. Receipts, dyno charts, all records just an absolute beast and all it needed was to be put in. I guess the guy got greedy and sold it out from under me. He did give me a 15k motor and I come pull parts pretty much whenever from his miata heaven. This is my third mx5 but the only one I've tried to do right. I want it fun but still be my DD so the more I can learn the better.

It says it only goes to 95 seems like the nb went through the some changes or something bc theres 3 different ms' for the 04 including the mazdaspeed one.

Sweet! Are you running a different ecu? I've probably got a million questions about the whole build in general. I'm not trying to build a monster I just want good reliable power that I can occasionally embarrass "real cars" in lol. With the little mods it has now it holds it own on track nights and will definitely make the guy in the mustang or charger wish he hadn't have tried to keep up through the twisties lol

Nah i'm running a regular old ECU on a boring naturally aspirated NB build. Looking to buy a MS3 Mini as well as it is significantly cheaper than the MS3 PNP Pro. Once I know what I am doing I will gradually step up to a turbo build.

I learned the hard way what not to do on my first one. So I'm doing all the research I can before I jump to far in. The ms just seems like the way to go even if I paid the full price. It's got so much and you can grow into it instead of having to swap it out when you want to go a different way. I really want to get it on the car and learn it before I boost it since I'll have to do the majority of my own tuning. The closest dyno is over 2 hours from me, yet I can see a nascar track and dragstrip from my house.......

I honestly have no clue what you are saying here??

You bought a 20k mile turbo car, that needed to be put in? what put in? then he sold what under you?

so instead of a whole turbo car he gave you a 15k mile motor? and you can pick through his miata junk yard for parts whenever you want?

im really trying to understand what you are saying here, but its not 4/20 yet.

Lol. I bought the 04 with 125k and baked paint he had the turbo motor and the other stuff taking up space in their garage. They are old guys that buy and restore miatas for the love of it and dont care about aftermarket. So he was throwing in that turbo motor for the bad paint and space in his garage. 2 days before I was picking it up my diff went out in my truck and killed the axle housing and transfer case so I had to spend some big money to fix it fast. I guess he got a good offer on the motor and sold it so he of course dropped the price a little more and gave me the 15k motor. These guys put them back stock so if they get anything they think i may want its cheap or free. I have a carbon fiber deck lid and hood they weren't ever gonna use i paid 100 for both. There's a few stress fractures and the trunk leaked we couldn't see them at the time. I'm going to try and repair them but they knew I wanted to see how a spoiler would look so they gave me another lid for free. They're just good guys doing what they love. It was bad timing on my part probably should have taken them some cash as deposit or just bought it and let the truck sit but it was snowing.
