Do you turn EGO off?
I find it most effective to do a huge datalog, like 10 minues of varied driving. that gives the most consistent results.

just doing power 1 run and blindly accepting all changes leaves a funky VE table in my experience.

Yeah i usually do 10-20 minutes because my "good old backroad" that i drive on to tune is 10-15 minutes one way to the first stop sign.

I've also never had anything but excellent results when I've road tuned a VE table with VE analyzer. I've never tried to tune WOT with it and I'm not sure that's it's ideal purpose, but it's been great for dialing in VE around low load cruise areas of the table.

I've found that turning off the AFR Target table while doing a tuning log/run give much better results. It makes sense since all the log would show is the AFR and not the adjustments it made behind the scene to attain those AFRs. So then VE Analyzer would be making changes based on what your VE table shows, not what the MS was actually delivering for fuel to reach the target AFR.

It'd be like you turning your oven on to make a pizza, then your girlfriend coming in without your knowledge and changing the temp on the oven. Then your pizza is burnt or undercooked in the recommended time. So the next time you go to make a pizza you adjust your temp setting up or down from your original temp(not what she set it to) depending on if it was burnt of undercooked but it still comes out wrong.

Anyway, that made sense to me and I was able to achieve more consistent results and a better tune once I realized that.

See, that's the thing. The datalog DOES show the enrichments and corrections applied. All the information to know exactly what the MS was doing is in the log. Hence the power of MS, and why VE analyzer is way better than the old MSTweak 3000. MSTweak only loaded the simplest of logs, where VE Analyzer uses the entire log to change cells. But if you've had better luck with AFR targets turned off, then great.

I've done plenty of power runs and used the VE analsyer, it's extremely good, the usual caveat applies i.e. use 4rd or 5th gear to slow everything down (apart from your landspeed ) a bit

just out of curiosity, what columns would those be if you view the log in excel?

everytime i used VE Analyzer with targets tables enabled it would keep going back and forth with recommendations for the fueling. it'd have me enrich a cell just to lean it back the next log. and yes i need load the newly made VE table before the following run/log.

i am very happy with the results i've achieved with the VE Analyzer program. I remember trying to adjust the VE map manually before I discovered the program. Talk about tedious! gotta love progress.

One of the things i didn't like about the new MegaLogViewer was it lost the ability to hit control - O to open a new file instead of using the mouse on the drop down menu, kinda difficult while driving.

But today I just realized if you hit just the O key it'll start the dialog to open a new log file. much easier.
