Default MS meet LS now play nice with the Coils

Got a MSPNP for 0405MSM miata. The build has LS coils set up in waste spark configuration. What do I need to change in the MS setting for them to work?
Hope to try and start it soon! Here the spec on the box and the MSQ file if anyone wants to just do it, do it.
Thanks

Nothing much mechanical, they work the same as any other smart coil. You will want to adjust the dwell values, some say they automatically fire at 3.5ms of dwell but I get by fine on 4.5 max with D585 coils. Stating a dwell time without a voltage is kind of silly, and to a lesser extent RPM. Far as I know trying to dwell 3.5ms is not 100% reliable at all voltages. Stock maps from HPtuners show around 6ms of dwell at cranking conditions (~10V, 500 RPM)

You can google HPtuenrs d585 dwell map, or there are some other threads around here on the subject.

To be 100% sure you can lock timing at 10 degrees and run the revs up and make sure you aren't firing early anywhere.

For others future reference.

Does anyone run the flowforce dwell settings successfully? I recall trying them and getting what felt like spark blowout.
I've been using the HPTuners type settings mentioned elsewhere without issue.
I re-pinned my flowforce setup for sequential. MS3X

Andy here, I do not have success with the flow force dwell table. it had too little dwell up top and would suffer spark blowout above 5500rpm for me. At that was at a measly 200 hp.

Sounds like an identical situation, going to post into your thread what I'm running. Thanks all.

OP: You may not want to run the Flowforce settings, so far at least two of us have had issues with MS3X / MSPNPPRO. Their harness is really nice, the bracket seems really nice too.

But did you have any spark? I have none.

If you have the Flowforce batch pinned harness, the coils should just work PNP. The ECU shouldn't see a difference between those and stock coils. Other than adjusting dwell times as we've mentioned.
Your tune should at least start up and run, based on the ignition settings. You are not using a table and have dwell set at 3.0. Flowforce says to use 3.5 if you don't use tables, like a MSPNP2 would do. It should just work.
Does your car run fine with the stock coil packs plugged back in?

No spark with stock coils either.

1.6 cars have external igniters, not smart coils. If you repinned the MSM ECU to work your 1.6 you might need to modify the igniter to pass the digital signal through to the LS coils. No idea why it's not working with the stock coil pack, though.

FYI for anyone following. Seem to be a fault in the MS box. Its out getting repaired.
