Default MS3 Install '99 Miata

Finally got everything needed to complete my install today. I have positioned the MS unit for easy access under the dash to the right of the steering column. The DIY BOB is on the left side of the column. Pics to follow!
I am going to install my LC-2 next. Should be a snap! Any recommendations on where to tap power from? I read that they do not recommend pulling it from the ignition due to noise interference. Any pointers here appreciated. I'm going to ground it up by the TB with the other harness grounds.
BTW, if your in the Tampa area with nothing better to do today, text me if you can come by! All expertise is appreciated. And yes, I have spent countless hours reading everything MS. None the less, a second set of experienced eyes would be nice!
If your in the area, shoot me a text @ 813.528.1666

Thnx,
Pete

Don't forget to free air calibrate the lc-2. That's one of the biggest mistakes I made with mine. Also, make sure you have a serial connector on your laptop to be able to connect the lc-2 and MS. If your laptop doesn't have a serial port, pick up a serial to USB adapter

Why not pick up 12V switched from the MS and ground it there as well (to the sensor ground).

Will do. That's the first item on my to do list after I install it.
Serial port on laptop - Check!

It's an LC2 with a single ground. It should be grounded to the regular ground not the sensor ground.

As I'm not where I can give a good, solid answer, I deleted this post.

We went in today and finalized the install of the MS3X. Power for the LC-2 was pulled from the fuse panel. I used a "add a circuit" and plugged into the cigarette lighter fuse slot (10amp). A 14 gauge wire with a ring terminal was attached to a lower bolt of the TB where all the ground wires are also attached. Free air calibration was completed prior to installing the O2 sensor in the bung on the RB Header.
I routed the ground wire and the vacuum line thru a grommet located below the wiper motor and inside the cabin behind the dash.
The O2 sensor cable was pulled thru the shifter hole on the transmission tunnel and the shifter boot was installed over it. Tuning starts tomorrow!
Pics to follow! Add a circuit pic:

So I've helping out radio getting his car running and we've hit a brick wall. Car cranks but wont start. He seems to be getting sync loss errors 31 and 32 during cranking on the logs. Here's the composite/log/tune we are working with. Any help would be much appreciated!

Seems to be an intermittent issue, as the crank is missing in the first part of the composite and then if you click to the "2nd" part it's back and looks like it's supposed too.. Thoughts?

Don't know if it makes a difference, but the ms3x was built per westfields guide and using his base map ( tweaked for stock injectors).

Aside from the crank sensor issue, I see a 268% fuel correction for temperature. That's odd to me. I also see it dancing between 10 degrees and 21.7-22.0 degrees ignition timing when cranking. I haven't looked at a cranking log lately but that seems odd to me.

After speaking with Sixshooter earlier and seeing the aforementioned comments, I believe that the appropriate course of action to take is as follows:

1. Remove DIY BOB & Megasquirt
2. Reconnect factory ECU, run car and check/document any anomalies
3. Reflash Megasquirt with 1.2.4 firmware using JimStim as power source
4. Reload original basemap.
4. Check settings for accuracy and compatibity for my application ('99 NB)
5. Make changes as needed to MS prior to re-installing in car
6. Re-install DIY-BOB /MS & validate settings
7. Start car ( troubleshoot non-start if needed)
8. The bitch better cooperate this time lol!

Well, it must have worked Sixshooter! The culprits ended up being incorrect voltage settings on the VR circuits. I had a senior fellow member from TBM come over today and he set the voltages up correctly (about 2.5 and 2.9) and she fired up! Fans are working, and the basics are now set.
At least now there's a baseline to work from with a running engine! On to the next challenge.......Tuning!

Woot!
