Post MS3 USB powered?

I have a 7" Windows 8 tablet that I plan on using as a digital dashboard with TunerStudio.

My plan is a Type-B Male to Type-A female converter, and then a standard Micro USB cable into the tablet. Will the Type-B usb port on the MS3 power a tablet in addition to sending data?

If not, has anyone had any success using Y cable to split the data and power sources? I've found
this cable this cable
, but the description mentions "Please note that the extra power goes into the peripheral device, not into the android device itself". I'm looking for something to power the tablet. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The type b will not power the tablet.

Just wire in a new lead to the fusebox and run it to the tombstone. Easy.

There is only 1 micro usb input on the tablet.

I did find this device, but I am looking for a cheaper solution. If all else fails, I will go this route.

Unfortunately this wouldn't work for my situation. This cable is meant to power an accessory device (external hard drive, etc.), not the host device (tablet).
