Default MS3x DIY services

Is there anyone that makes these any more? I know Braineck no longer makes them.

I’ve reviewed the guide at turbokitty but a little unsure of my skills. I’ve done some Soldering here and there for DIY speakers but nothing this expensive or complicated.

Thanks everyone.

How much do you save with DIY these days?

Seriously, save yourself the trouble and get one of the MS3PRO PNP variants.

MSpnp pro is around 1200. The MS3x diy is just over 600. Pretty big price difference.

People pretty happy with the MS-labs stuff? That is around 800-900.

Add in the real time clock and knock modules to your costs. MSPNP-Pro also comes with FREE pro version of TS and I believe megalog viewer. Also lifetime phone and email support based in the US.

That last one is a real undersold advantage compared to the diy route with assembly time accounted for. Certainly made my decision to grab a PnP Pro easier.

And the confidence that it is going to be reliable and work the way it should... for both you and your tuner.

This is coming from an EE who not only built his own custom MS3 pro module carrier (on top of a Westfield), but also converted the '91 chassis ECU connectors to those from an NB in order to get the additional pins.

Edit: if and when I do it again, it is a PNP option from a reliable vendor all the way for me.

So there are some clear advantages to the pro. OK. I'm thinking I will get this around Christmas time and start playing with the tuning software. Hope to get the injectors up during next summer and more tuning practice. I saw another one of your posts about recommending Evans tuning videos. Will give those a try as well.

My long term goal is an MK turbo (yes I know that's you ) kit so I'm just buying the pieces over a couple years instead of all at once.

Thanks for the advice.
