Hello All,

Looking to upgrade my head to a later model VVT head.

Was just wanting to make sure I can get it up and running with my current 36-1T trigger wheel setup whilst keeping sequential?

I've read searched around both here and msextra but most people seem to be running the standard 4T trigger wheel setup.

Engine: 94 1.8 Built 9:1 Comp
Ignition: LS2 Coils
Injectors: ID1000CC
Sensors: GM IAT, LC-1 O2, Crank, Cam
ECU: MS3X, Full Sequential IGN/INJ


Any assistance would be much appreciated

 

How is your current setup configured for sequential with the 36-1 wheel? Cam trigger wheel?

 

Correct, currently have a cam sensor on the exhaust side with one of the teeth cut off.

 

This setup won't work with the VVT. You need the FM 36-2 wheel for that combo, along with an intact cam wheel.

 

Thanks for your help, I'll look into sourcing a FM wheel.
