Now there are some serious issues.
If you think it's the firmware, download fresh 10G here: http://msextra.com/viewtopic.php?t=25336
You'll obviously have to easytherm it yourself but that's not difficult.

I know this is obvious but did you re-load the MSQ after the reflash?

I followed the instructions provided by the link at the beginning of this thread. What specifically do you think I may have missed?

I followed the instructions again, made a 2nd copy, dumped in the files, flashed, and now it's fine.

I'll go and load that firmware image (MM9093 without AFM) on my MSPNP right now and let you know if I have any problems.

Great news! I'm going to upgrade to 10g anyway so I can feel badass running the latest version.

The car idles more smoothly, and has a better time returning to idle. Cruise is fine. Boost is super lean. Don't know what's up with that, and don't really want to deal with retuning the VE table's >100kpa cells.

Yea, I don't know why the afr's are different between HR and Regular using the same settings. It happened to me too

I scaled all my boosted cells by 5 and let MLV work out the rest from there.

Just add a bunch of fuel and take it for a drive and let MLV do the work. Glad you got it working hi-res is great.

It's kind of bittersweet for me, as my VE table was tuned on a load dyno. But damn HR sure does feel better. Have about 75 miles or so on the HR firmware, and once running, has been running without incident. My car now runs at 18.5-19.0:1 at 60-65 mph cruise in 5th.
Working on getting boost dialed in better...

Just back from a drive after loading HR code, and I have to say, its just brilliant!! Right off the bat, without any changes, the car felt much much smoother and very free-revving compared to 029y4. My idle is about the same because I'm on stock injectors, but the rest of it is just awesome. For the first time I felt there was actually an improvement over stock, and I still havent tuned 100% yet.

Highly recommended!! I won't ever go back to the standard code again.

Its kinda odd some guys are experiencing leaner mixtures post-HR, because I did some logging in MLV and ran VE analyser, it recommended pulling VE across the board by 2-5 count. With the MLV-modified map its even better.

Mine was also richer after flashing with Hi-Res. One of the best parts for me was being able to idle at 13:1 or better compared to barely having a stable idle at 12:1 with the 550s.

Anyone notice a difference or discrepancy in their coolant temps after going to HR? I reviewed the datalog from my drive in, and where coolant temps are customarily 203°F, today they were reported at 207-211°. It was only 37° ambient today.

I'm not totally convinced that temp was actually any warmer today, but I'll check my coolant level later, just to rule that out.

But but but, remember my car is running leaner, and I've had to add a lot of fuel. Wonder if there indeed is a correlation? Could just a couple of degrees of that big of an impact? I'd think not.

One thing to consider: I believe Saboteur used the most recent firmware from DIY, which included an update to the easytherm values from the earliest MSPNP units, which we both have. Not sure this is the issue, but something to keep in mind.

So are the big improvements mentioned here due to transitioning from a previous version of hi-res to 10g, or going from standard non-hi-res to 10g? I have 10e hi-res in now (I think) and am wondering if it is worth it to flash the new code. Thanks

They're talking about going from standard MSNSE to Hi_Res. The only benefit of going to 10G is you won't have issues with rev limits or any of that odd stuff that was taking place when people were trying to go Hi_Res.

i loaded hres10e yesterday and did a couple street pulls and dialed my fuel/timing as best as i could but i noticed the hickup from time to time as well as a random rev limit at 6700 when i try to take it to 7k...i have mspnp 94-95 no maf...did exactly like sab instructions.

i just loaded hres10g 20 mins ago...did some driving and still hickups but not as often and i can take it to 7k(after some fuel adjustments)...but do i have to get the 1k cap...i have mspnp9495...lmk what i can do!!!

Try the cap mod first:
http://www.msextra.com/viewtopic.php?t=26727

If it still has issues after that, we will try to help you out.

Cheers
